The Clarke Courier
Mudd, who has a master's degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, calls his Bethel talk, "Readin', Writin' and the Road from Richmond." He is currently special correspondent for PBS' "MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour."
Preceding Mudd's talk will be a short report on the on-going restoration of the 1836 Bethel church building, which has been administered by a board of directors since the church's congregation disbanded in the 1930's.
After the program guests are invited to join a covered dish lunch on Bethel grounds. Traditionally, those attending the meeting bring a dish to share with other guests, and provide their own drinks, plates and flatware.
There is no charge for the program, but guests are given the opportunity to make a contribution to Bethel's restoration fund. For information call 837-1729.
