YOUNG MATRON DIES
Wife of Mr. Joseph R. Jolliffe
Passes Away at
Stephenson.
__________
Mrs. Laura Alice Jolliffe, wife of Mr. Joseph R. Jolliffe, died at 7 o'clock last evening at the family
residence at Stephenson, Frederick county, after a lingering
illness due to a complication of diseases, in the
thirty-fifth year of her age.
The death of Mrs. Jolliffe, while not unexpected by members of her family and intimate friends, has occasioned a
great deal of sorrow among a wide circle of acquaintances in
Winchester and Frederick county. Her illness extended over
a period of several months, and through all her sufferings
she was patient and courageous. She was always bright and
cheerful, notwithstanding her great affliction, and by her
kindness and unselfish disposition she had become endeared
to all within the circle of her acquaintance. Her early
death has called forth expressions of regret among her
friends and family.
Mrs. Jolliffe was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Robinson, of this county, and her age was 34 years, eight
months and two days. Some years ago she was married to Mr.
Jolliffe, who survives, together with her parents and two
brothers, Dr. Austin Robinson, a prominent physician and
surgeon of Baltimore, and Mr. Charles W. Robinson, of
Frederick county.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock on
Monday morning at the home of her parents, after which her
remains will be taken to Hopewell and laid to rest in the
historic burying ground of the Society of Friends at that
place. The pallbearers will be Messrs. William Tanquary,
Harry B. Childs, Roy P. Duvall, Dr. Fred. Cochran, Daniel
Lupton and T. S. Jolliffe.
