Miss Helen Cather Married To|
Mr. Gene Harner Yesterday
A marriage of much interest to friends in Winchester and Frederick county took place at 4:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. James L. Robinson, on the Gainesboro Road, when her granddaughter, Miss Helen Cather, became the bride of Mr. Gene Harner, of Morgantown, W. Va. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ronald Wilson.
The bride, the daughter of Mrs. Mabel R. Cather, was attired in a powder blue crepe dress with brown accessories and wore a corsage of yellow roses. The room was attractively decorated with chrysanthemums and snapdragons. The wedding march from Lohengrim was rendered by Mrs. Ray Robinson. A small reception followed the ceremony with only the immediate families present.
Mrs. Harner is a graduate of Handley High School and attended the College of William and Mary, and Strayers Business College in Washington, D. C., and for the past three years has been doing secretarial work at the Shenandoah Valley Apple Cider and Vinegar Company.
The groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Harner of Morgantown, W. Va. is a graduate of West Virginia University, and at present is Assistant Agricultural Aide in the Soil Conservation Service in Lexington, Va., where the young couple will make their home.
