Surprise Party
     To Mr. Robinson On
          Fiftieth     Birthday

     An enjoyable surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Robinson, near Wadesville, Saturday, February 14th., in honor of the fiftieth birthday of Mr. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson had so skillfully arranged everything that the honor guest was not aware of the treat in store for him until he arrived at his home, from which one of his neighbors had enticed him to allow for the arrival of the guests. There were 47 guests present and a sumptuous dinner was served, to which all did justice, and afterwards an enjoyable evening was spent with music and various kinds of games.
     Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Don Mattison and their guest, Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Blair's mother, of Chicago; Miss Nellie Flowers, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes Yeakley and children, Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Brown, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hirth and children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Campbell and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Russell and Mr. Russell's mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Grubbs, Mr. and Mrs. Brent DeHaven and children, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Oates and children, Mr. Harry Murphy, Miss Thelma McAboy and Mr. Kerfoot Marshall.

Mr. A. S. Robinson Given A
Surprise On Birthday

     Mrs. A. S. Robinson entertained a large number of relatives and friends at her home near Wadesville on Saturday, the occasion being the fiftieth birthday of Mr. Robinson. The party was a complete surprise to Mr. Robinson, as he was induced by one of his neighbors to take a trip to Berryville in the morning, and when he returned he found his home filled with friends and neighbors. An elaborate dinner was served consisting of a variety of meats, salads, pickles, cakes and ice cream, candy, etc. A lovely birthday cake, decorated with fifty candles, adorned the center of the table. During the evening the guests were entertained with music and games. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Don S. Mattison, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes Yeakley and children, Stuart and Mary Louise; Miss Nellie Flowers, Miss Virginia Luttrell, Mr. and Mrs. Claytus L. Oates, and daughters, Beulah and Hazel, all of Winchester; Mr. T. J. Blair and Mrs. S. J. Cranton, of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. H. Brent DeHaven, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tharpe, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Grubb, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hirth, Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Russell, Mrs. B. W. Russell, Miss Thelma McAboy, Miss Elizabeth Hirty, Messrs. Harry Murphy, Linden DeHaven, Charles and Walter Hirth, Kerfoot Marshall, Harold Campbell, Misses Margaret and Louise Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson and children: Rebecca, Mary, Joseph and William. Mr. Robinson received quite a number of presents, reminding him of the occasion. In the late afternoon the guests departed for their homes wishing Mr. Robinson many happy returns of the day.
