Judith DeHaven

     Ms. Judith Ann "Judy" DeHaven, 53, of Frederick County, VA, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at her parents' home. Ms. DeHaven was born on September 17, 1953, in Winchester, VA, the daughter of Joseph N. Davis, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Webber Davis. She was a secretary with National Traffic Systems in Winchester and was a member of Gainesboro United Methodist Church.
     She was a 1972 graduate of James Wood High School and was a member of the Winchester Eagles Aerie 824. She was presently vice-president of the Reynolds Store Fire and Rescue Company which was established in 1978, having held its first meeting at Wesley Chapel Church. She was on the Board of Governors and was the Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also on the Board of Directors and held the past office of Treasurer. Ms. DeHaven helped in every fundraiser. She was a much loved member of the company and will be greatly missed.
     Surviving with her parents of Winchester, are three sisters, Josephine "JoJo" Davis Peacemaker and her husband, Greg, of Bloomery, WV, Joyce Davis Wright and Janet G. Davis, both of Winchester; three nephews, Joseph Grubbs, David Grubbs and his wife, Jenn, and Daniel Grubbs and his friend Jennie Miller; one niece, Ann Marie Taylor and a great-nephew, Athan Maddox Taylor.
     A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with the Reverend Bill Withers and the Reverend Michael Kendall officiating. Interment will be in Gainesboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ann Taylor, David Grubbs, Daniel Grubbs, Charles DeHaven, Jr., Eric DeHaven and Doug Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Reynolds Store Fire and Rescue Company. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
