In the Name of God, Amen I, Enos McKay of Spring Farm, Page Co., in the State of Virginia, being of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament. Imprimis. I give, bequeath and dispose of my worldly estate in the following manner in form after the payment of my just debts and necessary expenses which can be paid out of my personal property. It is my will and desire that my lands and the rest of my personal estate be divided in the following manner to wit-- Item, To my dearly beloved wife, Eleanor Elizabeth, I give and bequeath the home farm purchased of Brumback, on which I now live or rather the balance of said tract as a small part there of has been deeded to my son, David McKay the tract containing at this time about 468 acres, be same more or less. Together with three tracts adjoining the purchased of Wm. Blackford and Mr. Peedler containing 50 acres each more or less. The other purchased of Mr. Marys containing 14 or 15 acres also the balance of tract purchased from Mr. Farrow which has already been given to my son, David McKay & Barbara Finter all of which will more fully appear in reference to their respective deeds. To have and to live the same during her single life, in event of her death or remarriage the same is deeded to her two daughters, namely, Ann McKay and Virginia McKay, and their lives forever. I further give and bequeath to my said wife Negroes, Rose, Gill and Isabella and their increases during her natural life after which are to go to her two above named daughters. I further give and bequeath to my said wife and her heirs forever all the livestock of every description and grain of every kind. I may be possessed of together with the whole of my household and kitchen furniture. Item. To my daughter Jane who intermarried with David Bumgardner, I give and bequeath my half of the Thornton Gap Turnpike with the lands attached in addition to the three thousand dollars already given her in the Hawksbill Mill property as laid off and described in an instrument of writing given her and her heirs forever. Item. To my two granddaughters Margaret Winsborough and Mary Ann Winsborough, Children of my deceased daughter, Rachel Winsborough, I give and bequeath my half of the Massanutten Turnpike with all land attached together with the Hersberger tract of land lying on Mill Creek and containing 380 acres more or less to them and their heirs forever. Item. To my two grandchildren Catherine Price and William Price, children of my deceased daughter, Leah Price, I give and bequeath the Mill Creek Farm purchased of George Brettan, Esq. and containing one hundred and fifty nine acres by the same more or less in addition to the one half of the Hawksbill Mill Farm already deeded to them. Item. To my son, David McKay, I give and bequeath that part of the Cave Hill tract of land purchased from Isaac Coffman lying on the right hand side of the main road leading from Luray to New Market. I also give and bequeath to my said son David three hundred dollars bond of his now lies in my possession payable after my death or in other words I acquit him and his heirs forever from the payment thereof. All in addition to the lands and other property already given him. Item. To my daughter Sarah who has intermarried with Reuben Bell, I give and bequeath the farm where on William Kedwell now resides, it being the one half of a tract of land on the South River (lower end) commonly called the eight hundred acre tract the other half of which I have conveyed to David Bumgardner by title bond for value received to her and her heirs forever subject never the less the payment of five hundred dollars to William Enos Price son of my deceased daughter, Leah Price where he shall leave arrived at the age of 21 years. And furthermore it is my will and desire that there as of my lands should be sold at public auction by my executors and the money arising there from together with all bonds, notes and open accounts and what ready cash may be on hand after paying my just debts and necessary expenses and also paying James R. Robertson a small legacy of 150 dollars as a memory of my friendship for him and also my beloved friend Ambrose C. Boston $50. That the balance should equally be divided into seven parts and divided as follows to wit to Jane Bumgardner, David McKay, Sarah Bell, wife of Reuben Bell, Ann McKay and Virginia McKay each equal one part thereof and to Margaret Winsborough and Mary Ann Winsborough one equal part between them and to Catherine Price and William Enos Price one equal seventh part between them and their heirs forever. Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend David Bumgardner and James R. Robertson Joint executors of my last will and testament hereby utterly revoking disallowing and disannulling all and every other testament, will, legacy, bequeath and executors by me in anywise before named written and bequested ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness thereof I have here into set my hand and seal this 20th day of January the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four. Enos McKay Legal and sealed and published and declared by said Enos McKay in his last will and testament in presence of each other have here unto set our names.
