Dee Ann (Shipp) Buck was born 8 December 1948 in Washington DC, the eldest of four children to Ralph Earl Shipp and the late Patsy Dee (Hopgood) Shipp. She has two sisters, Laura Lewis and Robin Ritchey and a brother, Ralph Craig Shipp. Dee Ann attended Wheaton High School in Wheaton MD before going on to Montgomery College in Rockvile, MD. She earned her bachelor's degree in history from Towson State College, Towson MD in 1971. Dee was employed at Vitro Laboratories in Silver Spring MD until 1980.
Dee Ann married Irvin Buck in 1977 and they started a family together. She became the loving mother of Travis Dee in 1980 and Brandan Paul in 1983. Both her sons served in

the armed forces, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan before returning home to complete their education and marry their lovely wives, Monica and April. Dee Ann was presented with a beautiful grandson, Ian Alexander, in 2016.
A devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, historian and noted genealogist, Dee Ann found personal fulfillment in the research, compilation and publication of precise and detailed genealogical studies of hers and allied families, particularly those in the Shenandoah Valley region. Her published works can be found in libraries across the nation.
Dee Ann died of natural causes on 28 January 2018.
