Billie Carole (Chapin) Fullen, 74, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 22, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of Lucius Aaron and Florence Lillian (McCelhaney) Chapin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, "Pete" Eldon Junior Fullen in 1997; a son, Michael Fullen and a granddaughter.
Billie is survived by her children: Vicky (Barry Baxter) Fullen of KS; David (Virginia) Grandey of PA; Joseph Grandey of NJ; Tracy (James) Storts of Mason, OH; Betty (Michael) Norckauer of FL; Douglas Fullen of Xenia; and Dawn(Rodney) DeWitt of Columbus; Daughter-in-law: Kimberly Fullen of Wilmington; Sisters: Nancy Phillips of OK; Shirley Lewis of PA; and brother: Ross (Sue) Chapin of PA; 16 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; dear family friends: Herman "Bud" and Donna Adams of Xenia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Billie was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Xenia, where she knitted "Prayer Shawls." She also volunteered in the coffee shop at Greene Memorial Hospital and had formerly worked as a secretary at Simon Kenton Elementary with the Xenia Community School System. She was also an active bowler, having won the State Mixed Team Tournament.
Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Christ Episcopal Church, 68 E. Church St., Xenia, with Rev. Pamela E. Gaylor officiating. Internment will take place privately at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Ohio. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8 PM at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church or to Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, 5005 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Suite 250 Dallas, TX 75244.
