xxxxxWarren Rifles Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy have put together an exhibit on the McKay family, Warren County's first family in conjunction with the Festival of Leaves.
xxxxxAmong the displayed items in the main assembly room in the Confederate Museum on Chester Street, upstairs are a copy of Robert McKay's will and a reproduction of the first land grant, circa 1731, giving the McKays lands in the Cedarville and South River areas.
xxxxxThere is a compilation of the original Fairfax suit researched and gathered here and in England by the late Hunter McKay.
xxxxxIn addition, there are a plat of the Nineveh church graveyard where the McKays are buried, pictures of six generations of McKays, personal articles and historical facts about the family.
xxxxxWorking on the extensive exhibit has been William Barbee, Isabelle McKay Hicks and Lucille Silman Wood.
