101st Collett McKay Picnic attended by 200

Second Saturday in August is always Collett-McKay picnic day--has been for a hundred years--and nearly 200 members of the family connection and guests attended the 101st Saturday. The Colletts and McKays own their own picnic grounds on Gurneyville Rd.
The two families go to the picnic from far and wide and on this particular cool Saturday the big iron coffee pot was in great demand, or its hot and invigorating contents.
Mr. John Nickerson Browning of Washington C. H. was the oldest one there, has attended more than 80 picnics, 50 of them consecutive ones. Youngest was 10-week-old Kristen Ann Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Becker Jr. (Kathryn Hackney). Kristen is only three days younger than Roger Bryan McKay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur McKay, who also attended the picnic. ("Kathryn Hackney" should read as "Katherine Hackney.")
Among newest members of the family connection were Kevin and Kimberly Carmean, six-month-old twins of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Carmean (Jane Inwood).
From a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ames and Saundra of Arcadia, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Clint Hackney of Fort Pierce, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haines and children of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Ron Vander Berg of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sell of Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Hattie Leasure of Westfield, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Baugh, Adele and Steven of Lakewood. ("Mr. and Mrs. Clint Hackney of Fort Pierce, Fla." should read as "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hackney and children, Gayle and Clint of Fort Pierce, Fla.")
