Collett-McKay Picnic.
Another ideal day was on hand, Saturday, for the annual Collett-McKay picnic, with slight exception in the 60 years this reunion has been in existence, the weatherman has been unfavorable. The woods, a plot of ground, owned by the family association, never appeared more beautiful for the enjoyable gathering.
The attendance register showed 270 present, 50 more than at the 1931 event.
The bountiful basket dinner featured the day's happy visiting. Hiram Poor, the colored man who had made coffee for almost 40 consecutive years, having passed away during the last year, John Simpson had been secured and utilized the large kettle to boil the delicious refreshment.
Connections were in attendance from Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Cleveland among other points in this State. From a greater distance were: Mrs. Anna C. Little, her daughter, Mrs. Mary C. L. Carman, and Miss Alice A. Chester, of Rochester, N. Y.; Dr. George A. Collet, Crawfordsville, Ind.; Miss Eleanor Collett, Chicago; Mrs. Glendora Haines Weibe and daughter, Alice K., of Bellview, Fla.; Rev. W. H. Cossum, wife and daughter, Catherine, of Jackson, Mich.; Mrs. J. H. Haynes and Ruth A. Haynes, of Brock, Ind.; Mrs. W. C. McCune and daughter, Virginia, Kokomo, Ind.

Collett-McKay Picnic, Saturday
The 64th annual Collett-McKay picnic will be held at the usual place, Collett-McKay picnic grounds, near New Burlington, at the usual time, second Saturday in August. This scenic spot, a 4-acre tract owned by the Collett-McKay family association and used for this purpose, is located in a beautiful sugar camp.
The gathering has been termed "picnic" since it was started many years before the more familiar "family reunion" was known and is still a picnic because it is carried on the same as formerly.
Already a number of the family connections have arrived and others are expected from a distance for the 1932 event.
