The fifty-first annual Collett-McKay picnic drew a large number of these two families and their connections last Saturday, those who were present enjoying the customary good will pre- valent at this reunion and the appe- tizing dinner for which the cooks of the families are famous. A telegram was received from relatives in Kan- sas, who were holding their reunion on the same day.

RECORD IS
               MAINTAINED

----------

COLLETT-MCKAY REUNION FA-
VORED BY SPLENDID WEATH-
ER FOR FIFTY-FIRST TIME.

----------

The remarkable record of the Collett-McKay reunion was maintained Saturday, when the 51st annual gathering was held in the same woods that has sheltered the members of the families on reunion day for 49 years. In the 51 years that the reunion has been held it has never been prevented by rain or any other interfering element, a record that is probably unequaled. The Collett-McKay reunion was the first family gathering to be held in Southern Ohio and the annual meetings have been a source of great pleasure and pride of the large family.
Saturday there were about 300 in attendance and as usual there were many present from a distance.
Four members of the family maintained another record that is undoubtedly unsurpassed. Each of these four have attended every reunion that has been held in the 51 years, Hon. B. Y. Collett, Horace Collett and Mrs. Robert McKay, of Chester Township, and E. S. Collett, of Wilmington, being able to register again and keep the "slate elean."
The day was an ideal one and the programme most enjoyable, while the big basket dinner was not the most unpopular event of the day. The greetings were of coarse a source of much pleasure.
A night letter had been sent from Wichita, Kan., which read as follows: "The Kansas Colletts and McKays send greetings to their relatives assembled on the Ohio picnic grounds. We want to help celebrate the 51st annual Collett-McKay picnic." It was signed by 20 people and among them, Robert Skimming, who is visiting relatives there.

PICNIC TIME

----------

     This settles it--
It's picnic time. Here's the announcement that many people have been looking for. Howard Collett brings it in. It reads:
"The 51st annual Collett-McKay picnic will be held at the usual place. Saturday, August 11."
This is the picnic that holds the record for never being interrupted by rain, and for being attended without fail every succeeding year by every member of the two big Clinton County families--at least by every member that can find it possible to get out of bed even if he has to get back in bed for a week afterwards to recuperate.
This is the official and authoritative announcement of the opening of the family picnic season.
