The twenty-sixth annual Collett-McKay picnic occurred at the usual place Saturday, August 13, 1892, an average crowd being present. The day was perfect for the occasion, dry and still, and neither too warm nor two cold. A good many guests were present, but the large part of the crowd were there by right of birth or marriage. The three hundred people or more confined themselves almost entirely to two things, the serving of the dinner, which was abundant and elegant, and then a long and pleasant visit about the board. No one gets very far away, and young and old, from grand parents to babies, mingle together in a happy, congenial company. Long may this family continue to prosper, long may they yearly gather together, and long may they make us welcome.

The 26th anniversary of the Collett-McKay picnic, was celebrated right royally last Saturday, and attended by about four hundred McKays and Colletts and their friends. The day was a perfect one, and all who participated in it seemed bent on making everybody about them feel glad to be there.

The famous Collett-McKay picnic that has been regularly held for so many years that it has become an institution in Clinton county, will take place this year on Saturday, Aug. 13th. It is always on the 2d Saturday. Over in that county it is considered a good thing, about this time of year, to be a Collett or McKay.
