About 150 relatives of the Collett and McKay families, assembled at a grove on Daniel Collett's farm, a few days since, and had a glorious reunion. From the reports we got, it was truly a joyous and happy meeting of relatives and friends.

Happy Family Gathering.
On Saturday last occurred the third annual re-union of the Collett and McKay families in their neighborhood, on the pike leading from Wilmington to New Burlington. Being absent from the county, visiting a sick mother, we could not avail ourselves of the opportunity of attending and making the acquaintance of many of the warm friends of the Republican, but learn from John A. Smith, of our town, who was present with his family, that the occasion was one of rare interest and quiet enjoyment. There were present about one hundred and seventy-five persons, of all ages, from the hoary-headed sire and silver-haired grandma, down through all the stages of life to the prattling infant on its mother's knee. Of all the goodly number present, not more than half a dozen but were connected by ties of blood or marriage with the Collett's or McKay's, and such a happy commingling of relatives and friends is seldom witnessed on any occasion. The dinner was up to the highest point of the cuisine, and spread in picnic style, was enjoyed as only dinners can be in the grove, and by good livers generally. Late in the afternoon when the hour for retiring was almost come, Rev. Mr. Bedell, of Xenia was called out and made an address replete with pleasant associations, which was enjoyed by all who heard it, and all who were present heard. Toward evening the many families of the two families quietly dispersed, all agree. ing the day had been one of rare social enjoyment. We are indebted to Mrs. Noah Haines, by the hand of E. A. Routhe, Esq. for so liberal a supply of luxuries from the dinner table, that we can only say that such remembrances add, to the pleasures of life vastly; and we end by saying, thank you, for the gift, and promise that another year, if life and health are spared, will find us at the Collett and McKay reunion.
