Kevin Voyne Omps
     Keven Voyne Omps, 85, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Monday, February 25, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center.
     Mr. Omps was born in 1933 in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, the son of the late H. Herschel and Nellie Omps. He graduated from James Wood High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Omps was co-owner/operator of H.H. Omps Transportation. He was a member of the NRA, the American Legion in Capon Bridge, past member of the Board of Directors of Clear Brook Fire Department, served on the Board of Directors at Marathon Bank in the past, and was one of the original founders of the Shenandoah Valley Pullers Association. He thoroughly enjoyed truck pulling and encouraged his sons to be a part of this. Mr. Omps enjoyed hunting, his dogs, and above all else, his family....especially family dinners. He attended Bloomery Presbyterian Church.
     Mr. Omps married Bessie Haymaker in 1954 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
     Surviving with his wife of 64 years are children, Kenneth William Omps (Lisa) of Winchester, Virginia, Martha Omps Miller (Wayne) of Winchester, Virginia, Jessie Omps Gulick (Terry) of Clear Brook, Virginia, and Michael Voyne Omps (Marcella) of Clear Brook, Virginia; grandchildren, Dale Omps (Jenny), Kelsey Omps, Ashley Hoffmann (Andrew), Brittany Holliday, Ryan Gulick (Kristin), Keven "K.C." Gulick, and Kaitlyn Gulick; great grandchildren, Kemper Omps, Korbin Omps, Mackenzie Haun, and Ava Hoffmann; brother, John E. Omps (Millie) of Berryville, Virginia; his beloved dogs, Rusty and Buddy; as well as his friends in the Mountaineer Hunt Club.
     Mr. Omps was preceded in death by a sister, Emmagene Faye Dorsey.
     A visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
     A funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor David W. Omps officiating. His final resting place will be in Fairview Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gore, Virginia.
     Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Omps, Ryan Gulick, Keven Gulick, Kemper Omps, Donnie Milburn, and Todd Kettlewell.
     Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mountineer Hunt Club.      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Keven's memory to Bloomery Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 27, Bloomery, West Virginia 26817.

Bessie Haymaker Omps
     Bessie Haymaker Omps, 84, of Frederick County, VA passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, surrounded by family at her home.
     Mrs. Omps was born in 1936 in Winchester, VA, daughter of the late Russell and Annie Haymaker. She attended John Handley High School and retired from H.H. Omps, Inc. Mrs. Omps attended Bloomery Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
     Her husband, Keven Voyne Omps, whom she married in 1954 preceded her in death in 2019.
     Surviving are children, Kenneth William Omps (Lisa) of Winchester, VA, Martha Omps Miller (Wayne) of Winchester, VA, Jessie Omps Gulick (Terry) of Clear Brook, VA, and Michael Voyne Omps (Marcella) of Clear Brook, VA; grandchildren, Dale Omps (Jenny), Kelsey Omps, Ashley Hoffmann (Andrew), Brittany Holliday, Ryan Gulick (Kristin), Keven "K.C." Gulick (Mindy), and Kaitlyn Gulick; great grandchildren, Kemper Omps, Korbin Omps, Mackenzie Haun, Ava Hoffmann, Maci Hoffmann, and Angelina Gulick; sisters, Phyllis Tyson of Glengary, WV, Elizabeth Wright and Juanita Creswell both of Winchester, VA, and Billie Fletcher of Stephens City, VA; and brother, Clarence Haymaker of Clear Brook, VA.
     Along with her parents and her husband, Bessie was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Triplett.
     A visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
     A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday at Fairview Lutheran Church Cemetery, 464 Fairview Road, Gore, VA with Pastor David W. Omps officiating.

Amos "Butch" G. Kettlewell
     Amos G. "Butch" Kettlewell passed away May 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Butch was born October 7, 1938, at his boyhood home in Stephens City, Virginia, son of the late Amos O. and Gertrude Vogelpohl Kettlewell. He graduated from James Wood High. He served in the Air National Guard. He was employed with Schenck Food Company for 36 years and raised beef cattle and hogs for many years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, the Elk Foundation, the Mountaineer Hunt Club, and former member of the James Wood Athletic Foundation. He also was a volunteer with the Reynolds Store Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Butch loved to volunteer helping others. He also loved gardening, wood working and especially hunting.
     Butch married Patricia Ann Hite November 27, 1958 in Winchester, Virginia.
     Surviving with his wife of 60 years are 3 sons, Thomas W. and Lela Kettlewell of Bloomery, West Virginia. Timothy W. and Brenda Kettlewell of Stephens City, Virginia, and Todd W. Kettlewell of Cross Junction, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Wynter Kettlewell, Timothy and Lauren Kettlewell, and Kaleb Kettlewell; 4 great grandchildren, Cole, Jolie, Peyton and Truett; sister, Johanna K. Moss and many nieces and newhews. Butch was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Adda L. Kettlewell, Gertrude K. Seal, Rosemarie K. Bowen, Barbara K. Lineburg, Bertha K. Shiley; and 1 brother, John H. Kettlewell.
     The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturday at the Omps Funeral Home Chapel, Amherst Street. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor John Lock officiating. Interment will be private.
     The family of Butch would like to give a special thanks Dr. Kozlowski, Dad's favorite doctor; Dr. Resta and the staff at Shenandoah Oncology; the staff at the Winchester Medical Center, especially Peter T. whom gave Dad excellent care; and Jennifer, Courtney and the rest of the staff at Five Star Home Health Care, and Nurse Kelly and the staff at Blue Ridge Hospice.

Emmagene Faye Omps Dorsey
     Emmagene Faye Omps Dorsey, 86, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
     Ms. Dorsey was born in 1931 in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, the daughter of the late H. Herschel and Nellie A. Omps. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1951. Ms. Dorsey was a secretary at Bunker Hill Elementary School and at one time a Teacher's Aide at John Street Elementary School in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She retired from the tourism industry for the State of West Virginia. Ms. Dorsey was a member of the Winchester Eagles, the Red Hat Society and would gather with her classmates from Stonewall School. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed bird watching, volunteered at the Women's Auxiliary at Winchester Medical Center and a caregiver to many family members and friends. She would always remember to send greeting cards to family and friends, be it anniversary, birthday, graduation...she had her calendar full to remind her of these special occasions. Ms. Dorsey was a member of Bunker Hill Brethren in Christ Church and volunteered her services in many ways.
     Surviving is her beloved companion, Donald W. McCarty; daughters, Karen D. Trenary and husband, James of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, Kathy D. Wood and husband, Douglas of Back Creek Valley, West Virginia, and Michelle D. Burris and husband, Richard of Hedgesville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Stephanie, J.D.(Caroline), Josh, Andrea (David), Matthew (Candace), Megan (Matthew), Casey, Billy Ray, Amanda, and Ricky; great grandchildren, Frankie, Andy, Hunter, Emma Jane, and Evan; brothers, Keven Omps of Bloomery, West Virginia and John Omps of Berryville, Virginia; father of her children, Phineas L. Dorsey.
     Ms. Dorsey was preceded in death by a son, Mark P. Dorsey.
     The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
     A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Street with Pastor Raymond Martin officiating. Interment will be in Paynes Chapel Cemetery, Bunker Hill, West Virginia.
     Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, J.D., Matthew W., Billy Ray, Joshua, Dave, and Matthew F. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie, Andy, Hunter, and Evan. Evelyn Luttrell Leight
     Evelyn Virginia Luttrell Leight, 80, of Winchester, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
     She was born February 4, 1934 in Winchester, the daughter of Paul and Nellie Dailey Luttrell.
     She was married to Donald W. Leight.
     Mrs. Leight had been a bookkeeper and a homemaker.
     She was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.
     Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Lisa Costello and her husband Todd of Winchester; a sister, Thelma Phillips of Winchester and two granddaughters, Jessica Boone and her husband Simon and Lacey Costello.
     A funeral service will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 311 Hope Drive, Winchester with Dr. Bill Everhart officiating.
     Entombment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
     Casket bearers will be John Gano, Archie McKay, John Omps, John D. Smith John Burleson and Bruce Carpenter.
     Honorary bearers will be Jack Robinson, Amos Kettlewell, Kevin Omps, Wayne Godlove, Andrew Rogers and Todd Costello.
     Friends will be received on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Corey B. Omps
COREY BENJAMIN "CB" OMPS
     On May 15, 2015, our beloved son and brother, Corey Benjamin Omps, departed this world.
     Corey was born on August 11, 1981, in Winchester, the son of John E. & Alecia Mildred (Millie) Omps. He was a graduate of Clarke County High School, Class of 2000 and the Nashville Auto Diesel College. Corey previously worked for Virginia Truck Center in Weyers Cave, Virginia. He was presently employed as Shop Supervisor with H. H. Omps Trucking Company, where he supervised day to day operations while working closely with his Dad. He was taking leadership in the shop, and was a great mechanic and enjoyed working on diesel trucks, and helping friends with their trucks, pulling trucks and cars.
     He enjoyed deer hunting, and had several deer mounts hanging on the walls in his parent's home. Three years ago, Corey decided he wanted a pulling truck and had great success in pulling while driving "The Real Deal", a bright blue diesel pulling truck. Corey pulled in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana and Kentucky while black smoke rumbled out of the stack.
     Corey will be greatly missed by his family and wonderful friends. He had a wonderful smile, a twinkle in his eyes, and a laugh that brought a smile to everyone's face.
     In addition to his parents of Clarke County, Virginia, he is survived by two brothers, Herschel James Omps of Berryville, Virginia, Aaron Keith Omps, and his wife, Misty, of Stephens City, Virginia, and his maternal Grandmother, Lucille F. Hughes of Winchester VA. Corey leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and so many great friends, including his devoted dog Muzzie better known as "Muzz". He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. Herschel & Nellie Horner Omps, and his Granddaddy James Mac Hughes.
     The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
     A funeral service will be conducted at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, on Friday at 11:00 AM, with Funeral Celebrant Joseph R. Dilleree officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia followed by a reception at the Gore Fire and Rescue Hall.
     Pallbearers will be Kevin Long, Brandon Smoot, Mike Wilson, Andy McIntire, Brad Broy, and Billy Bowmaster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Lineweaver, Jason Wiles, Josh Scruggs, John Rutherford, Mark Wilson, Jason Zambini, Rob Morris, Donny Milburn, Joe Reed, and Dave Crosen.
     The family would like to thank family and friends for being with them through this terrible loss of our Corey. Your call, visits and prayers are helping us cope with our loss. Corey's life ended so soon and he touched so many people. What a blessing God gave to all of us to love, and have him in our lives.

Marcella Louetta "Beattle" (Clark) Omps
     Marcella Louetta "Beattle" (Clark) Omps, 56, of Clear Brook, VA passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
     Beattle was born in 1964 in Washington, DC, daughter of Anna Barron and the late Douglas Clark; stepdaughter of the late Roger Barron and stepdaughter of Patti Clark. She was a graduate of James Wood High School and worked for H.H. Omps Inc. Beattle was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church. She loved her dogs and grand-dogs and enjoyed spending time at the cabin in the mountains.
     She married Michael Voyne Omps on August 31, 1996 in Winchester, VA.
     Surviving with her husband is a daughter, Kelsey Omps (Matthew) and a son Dale Omps (Jenny) both of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Kemper and Korbin Omps; sister, Lisa Rudolph (Steve) of Berryville, VA; and brother, Mark Clark (Sandy) of Middletown, VA.
     Along with her father and stepfather, Beattle was preceded in death by a brother, Rocky Clark.
     A visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
     A graveside service will be conducted at 12 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Fairview Lutheran Church Cemetery, 464 Fairview Road, Gore, VA with Pastor David Omps officiating.
     Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Omps, Kemper Omps, Todd Kettlewell, Joe Cramer, Brian Holbrook, Tim Shirley, and Jimmy Moritz.

Mark Phineas Dorsey
     Mark Phineas Dorsey, 50, of Ranson, formerly of Bunker Hill, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at City Hospital.
     Born June 27, 1959 in Winchester, VA he is the son of Phineas L. Dorsey and Emmagene Omps Dorsey of Bunker Hill.
     He had been a carpenter with S & L Construction Company.
     In addition to his parents, he is survived by life-time companion, Lisa Dawn McDaniel of Ranson, WV; one daughter, Casey Margo McDaniel of Jefferson Co.; one son, Billy Ray Dorsey of Frederick Co., VA; and three sisters, Karen Trenary of Bunker Hill, Kathy Wood and Michelle Burris both of Hedgesville.
     Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 2:30PM at Paynes Chapel with Rev. Greg Alderman officiating. Interment will be in Paynes Chapel Cemetery.
     Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
     In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his children, Casey and Billy Ray, c/o Susquehanna Bank, 5091 Gerrardstown road, Inwood, WV 25428.
