Mt. Pleasant (Fawcett's) Meeting

This is also in the same vicinity where Mt. Pleasant Meeting House once stood. Mt. Pleasant was also nicknamed "Fawcett's Meeting" because many of the Fawcett family lived and worshipped in that section. Many of the Fawcetts are descendants of three of the allied families mentioned in this section on Robert Mackay Sr.'s family. They are the Job, Antrim & Branson families.

A sign erected at the entrance to the cemetery reads:

Mt. Pleasant
Quaker Cemetery
est. 1779 by

1716 John Fawcett 1786

This cemetery is located on Cedar Creek Grade in southwestern Frederick County, Va. near Fawcett's Gap.

This record will be revised soon.
