David inherited "Abram's Delight" from his father who in turn got it from his father, Isaac, who had the house built for him by Simon Taylor. The tract of land originally belonged to Isaac's father, Abraham, whom the property was named after.

All chn. of above were the last people to live in Abra(ha)m's Delight. It was then passed to Ada Bliss Hollingsworth who sold it to the city of Winchester.
