David, married 2nd: 31 1mo 1867; Mary L. Smith, born: 26 8mo 1845; Winchester, VA; died: 9 12mo 1915; Toledo, OH; buried: Bellevue Cem., Bellevue, OH; Dau. of Hiram J. Smith and Annie E. McEndree; According to Hinshaw's records Mary was "reported married contrary to discipline" on 6 12mo 1900 by Hopewell MM but she retained her right of membership. Her husband wasn't a member. She later was "released by request" on 8 11mo 1906 by Hopewell MM. Her reason was that she was "situated so that she cannot attend a Friends Mtg & wishes to join religious organization of which her husband is a member". According to Hinshaw's Quaker records David was "reported married contrary to discipline" but retained his membership for this marriage on 4 6mo 1868 by Hopewell MM.
