According to Gracie Esser John & Emily moved from Missouri to Saline County, Kansas and then on to Woodward County, Oklahoma. A couple of the sons, one being Gracie's grandfather Nelson Underwood ("Wood") were in one of the Oklahoma land rushes. Conditions were hard and the family wasn't wealthy. Most of them were buried in a small country cemetery called Moscow in Woodward County, Oklahoma. A website has a listing of the graves located there. According to Jeanne Hawkins and Melvin Baker, Emily is buried in the Moscow Cemetery in Woodward County. "She was hurt when a horse ridden by James Stabler reared up and she fell. She went to live with James and Savanner Syrie Stabler (her daughter). Emily lived for awhile after that. When she died at the Stabler home the weather was so bad that the hearse froze up so they loaded the casket into a spring wagon and went to the cemetery. The original cemetery record was written on a piece of cloth and the caretaker would not let anyone have it. This information was obtained from Jeanne Syrie-Hawkins. Issue: Syrie
