VA; Son of Moses Walton & Eunice Rogers; From Hopewell Friends History, p. 402 we find a transcribed copy of their marriage certificate: ![]() Volume 15 has my notes on the Walton family. Samuel was disowned in 1809 by Hopewell Meeting for having accepted an office in military service, purchased a slave and administered oaths. His will is recorded in the clerk's office at Woodstock, Va on 21 Feb 1843 Will Book W p. 347. He was a man of large estate and the home farm alone was worth $10,090 and besides the personal property, furniture alone thereon valued at $1968, there were many bonds, notes etc,, of large value Book W p. 423-24. In 1810 he was elected a Justice of the Peace, and in 1822 was elected "High Sheriff" of Shenandoah Co. Va. Their children were born either in Frederick or Shenandoah Co. VA listed out of order.
