Winston graduated from Bunker Hill High School which was later demolished and rebuilt in a different location and is now called Musselman High School. Winston owned and operated the Food Center located at 103 N. Loudoun Street (now Old Town Winchester Mall) from 11 8mo 1954 until it closed on 3 5mo 1962. The property was sold to Pedro & Louise Moore who operated it as the "Golden Kitchen" Restaurant. It was later sold again and became Vivian's Country Cooking. The location is now the home of The Village Square Restaurant. Winston was also President and later General Manager of The Grocer's Wholesale until his retirement in 1987. He remained President of that Corporation until it's dissolution in 2001. Winston has also served as a lay minister and treasurer at Round Hill United Methodist Church (now called Round Hill Church).
