MARGARET HALSNODE born around 1644 Kent, England, married first, John Denne, of St. Alphange, Canterbury, baptized at Ripple, co. Kent , 24 June, 1636; died around 24 June, 1685; son of James Denne (or Den), of Ripple, co. Kent, and his wife Ann Elgare, and grandson of John Denne, of Great Mongeham, co. Kent, and afterward of Estry, and his wife Joan Foche, of Worth, co. Kent, (they were married on 8 Aug, 1601), and great-grandson of Peter Denne of Deal, co. Kent. Bessie's "Sufferings", an account of the persecutions to which the early Friends in England were subjected, has that John Denne was one of the "sufferers" in Canterbury, Kent. He became one of the early Quaker settlers of Salem County, N.J. 43. ELIZABETH DENNE, baptized at St. Alphange, 19 Mar, 1663; married first, at Salem, 28 Nov 1680 (his second wife), Richard Hancock, of Bromley-by-Bow, co. Middlesex, and later of Salem, N.J, died Cohansey, Cumberland Co. N.J 1689. 44. MARGARET HANCOCK, born in Salem Co. N.J, around 1684, married
in Salem Co. N.J, 23 Feb 1705 to Thomas Garwood, died in Burl.
Co. N.J ca. 1752. Their chn were: Elizabeth, Thomas, Isaiah,
