Eugene Asbury "Gene" Newlin, 68, of Winchester, VA, died on Friday, February 10, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Newlin was born on August 10, 1943 in Winchester, VA, a son of the late Eugene A. Newlin, Sr. and Margaret Dick Newlin. He was a meat cutter at the A&P/Super fresh and worked for Car Qwest Auto Parts all in Winchester. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and a 1962 graduate of James Wood High School both in Winchester.
Mr. Newlin married Nancy Spielman Newlin on August 22, 1966 in Hagerstown, MD.
Surviving with his wife of 45 years is a daughter, Melissa Gladden and her husband Terry of Stephens City, VA; two brothers: James R. Newlin and Jerry Newlin both of Winchester, VA; two foster brothers: John Jenkins of Martinsburg, WV and Leonard Jenkins of Upper Marlboro, MD and an aunt: Ada DeHaven of Winchester, VA.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Inurnment will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery in Whitacre, VA at a later date. Family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service.
