Charles "Red" Edward Keene, 84, of Clear Brook, VA since 2001, died on Monday, January 16, 2012, in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Keene was born September 28, 1927 in Washington, D.C. to the late Joseph and Merle McKay Keene.
His beloved wife of 42 years, Janet Juanita Fike Keene and two children, George Keene and Joan Hockman predeceased him.
After serving his country in the U.S. Navy, he settled in Ashburn, VA for many years raising his family and volunteering with the Ashburn Vol. Fire Department. Mr. Keene was a hard working father and a member of the Rodman's Local Union 201, Washington D.C. He loved collecting guns and spending time at the local American Legion in Winchester.
He is survived by his beloved seven children, Neal Keene of Winchester, Debra Lewis of Manassas, VA, Michael Keene of Front Royal, VA, Linda Williams of Bokeelia, FL, Joyce Thompson of Jeffersonton, VA, Francis Keene of Sterling, VA, and Lori Dillman of Charles Town, WV; a sister, Catherine "Minnie" Randall of Front Royal, VA; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday January 21 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery Leesburg, VA.
