Mary Virginia Haines Sparks, 85, of Sabina, died Saturday (Nov. 20, 2010) at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Sparks, who died Nov. 2, 1990. They were married Sept. 12, 1943.
Mrs. Sparks was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Clinton County, daughter of the late R. Noel and Virginia Collett Haines. She was a member of Sabina United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She graduated in 1943 from Sabina High School. She devoted her life to caring for her family and doing volunteer work at the church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Virginia (Phil) Snow of Sabina and Mary Jill (Terry) Richard of Sabina; two grandsons, Duane Arthur Richard of Wilmington and Kevin Sparks Richard of Columbus; a sister, Ann Van Pelt of Wilmington; a brother, Robert (Sandra) Haines of Pensacola, Fla.; several nephews and nieces; and special friends, Marty Begin, Emma Blair and Lee Ann Penwell.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Sabina Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice, P.O.
