Anna Minnick Sowers, 79, of Front Royal died Tuesday at Loving Arms Rest Home in Front Royal.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Front Royal by the Rev. Robert Jones. Burial will be in Rockland Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Sowers was born Aug. 25, 1925, in New Market, daughter of George L. and Sallie T. Minnick. She had worked for a British shipping company during World War II and was a substitute teacher for Warren County Public Schools for a number of years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Warren Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Retired Teachers Association. She was the wife of the late Charles Thomson Sowers.
Surviving are a son, Charles T. Sowers Jr. of Farmville; a daughter, Anne Sowers Broyhill of Bethesda, Md.; a brother, William M. Minnick of Ennis, Texas; two sisters, Catherine Weeks of Floyd and Margaret Lawson of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
