The two acres that the EDA owns at the McKay Spring site is still zoned Residential, although the land around it is zoned Commercial. It is being marketed by the EDA together. There has been commercial interest in it lately, so the rezoning is being requested to make this 2 acres commercial as well.
If this rezoning is passed, the property will be sold, and any hope for historic preservation will be lost forever!
