I am going through Frederick Co. VA tax list. Tax for the year 1808 were not collected. On the list for 1809 is a record which proves my three line of Jacob McKay.
1. Jacob McKay 1st taxed one white male over 16, 9 horses
2. Jacob McKay 2nd taxed three white males over 16, 9 horses
3. Jacob McKay 3rd taxed one white male over 16, 15 horses.
Hope in later tax list to see when Jacob McKay 3rd brother Jesse left the area. Of course, all my other line in Frederick Co. VA I am recording that information as well.
Might have to see about viewing Clarke Co. VA and Warren Co. VA for the lines that stayed after 1837.
