I know from Irish Quaker Records a couple named Roger Wakefield (1677-1731) married to Mary Haig members of the same MM in Northern Ireland. But I can't find they had a daughter named Martha Wakefield born 1700.

Said Roger was the son of Roger Wakefield born 1640 Patrick, Westmoreland, England his wife Hannah Preston born 1645 Farleton, Westmoreland, England. This location right on the coast near removal to Ireland. Cumberland county England I have found people from that location members of Lugan MM, Ireland.

Hannah and Roger Wakefield did have three others sons: Thomas b. 1669, Nicholas born 1672 and John born b. 1673. Need to find out if they had daughter Martha who married George Hiatt and removed to colonies. Her mtDNA would come from the wife of said son. If one of their wives came from Wales that would be very good news.

If the other researcher e-mail me again, will ask if she has DNA matches with the line of Nicholas Wakefield born 1 Jul 1672 England, son of Roger, died 1 Jul 1672 in CT. (according to tree).

I have placed in my Ancestry tree as many known descends of Martha Wakefield, to see if I can find another female descend to turn in her mtDNA. If you look under Martha's daughter Elizabeth "Find a Grave" you will see the listing of her DNA numbers which match mine.

I have one degree of separation with Larry Goltz his oldest known ancestress Lettice Morgan b. 1747 Marloes, Pembrokeshire, Wales. I have some more of these one degree separation matches, but first I want to pick down the two zero separation matches.

All test subject would appear to be going back to Wales.
