I received notice from Family Tree DNA of two new matches on my mtDNA line. Anna Greta Gustafsson supplied no information. The second sample we are in luck. Tony Godwin has an account also on Ancestry his tree Barger-Bolling-Sizemore. His oldest known female ancestor Elizabeth Williams born 1765 Patrick Co. VA died 1820 Clay Co. KY married Wm. Jones.

I have send him a message. Perhaps something will turn up. I have never researched in this part of VA.

Dealing with our Elizabeth Fox of Ireland I have ordered films dealing with Irish Quakers. I hope to find a record of her marriage with Wm. Cook. Any other information will be welcomed. If I can find out her mother's name that would be great ! But I have found my emigrate ancestor in her and that for me is enough.

I know information dealing with Valentine Hollingsworth is present just a matter of posting all of it to my tree in Ancestry.

when I find the time. Some of the information surrounding Elizabeth Williams found on Ancestry Tree is confusing. Patrick Co. VA was formed from Henry Co. VA. I have one of my distant Rogers cousin spend time in that location. I do not have that location on my listing of film to view.

1790 Tax Payers for Henry Co. VA list: Elizabeth Williams and Silas Williams. The last Silas is found on Ancestry Tree born 1765 Patrick Co. VA died 1839 married Lucy Haley. Some give his father's name as John Williams born 1740 died 1782 Patrick Co. VA married to Sarah SULLIVAN born in VA died Patrick Co. VA. No female line given this is what we would want.

However, the three trees to not link Elizabeth Williams born 1765 to above John. Could be her mother was the other Elizabeth Williams as a widow?

Hope the researcher has more information willing to share.

Some of the confusing information takes Sarah Sullivan back to LOUDOUN CO. VA, but I will not trust what they say until I can find original documents. But rather strange they would come up with this particular location in Northern VA.

I do believe our Elizabeth Fox born 1647 Ireland? died 1734 PA married Wm. Cook, first husband and father of her four children. I have the names of her children and looking to confirm names of her grandchildren. My closest mtDNA matches I believe are linking up over in Ireland or England.

1. Roy B. Isbell has his oldest known ancestress has Margaret Wakefield born in Ireland, member of Quaker Society removed to colonies, died in NC. She was a preacher among the Society. This family appears to have links with Hiatt and Ogden both Quaker families that lived in Loudoun Co. VA removed all over US.

2. Bertha Apple she only had her oldest known ancestress as Louisa Wingler (1854-1905). I have been able to piece together her oldest known (to me) as Margaret Jones born 1680 died 1737 Westmoreland Co. VA married Richard Watts. I have Family Finder matches with her various surnames but looking for researchers who descend from the following couples. This line links up with Michael's Strother

A. Margaret Jones b. 1680 VA? d. 1737 Westmoreland Co. VA m. Richard Watts, could have matches with his siblings
B. Margaret Watts b. 1700 d. 1754 m. Wm. Strother
C. Margaret A. Strother b. 1726 d. 1786 m. John Robbins
D. Mary Robbins b. 1760 m. Joseph Roberts
E. Sarah Roberts m. John Haynes
F. Catherine Haynes b. 1827 m. John S. Wingler
G. Louisa Wingler b. 1854 d. 1905

3. Raymond C. Coontz only has Davis as oldest known female surname England? or Wales.

All these other kits points to our Elizabeth Fox could be born in Ireland, but I will be looking to see if her mother removed into Ireland from Wales.

Tony Godwin did send a message that-- he has the mother of Elizabeth Williams as Elizabeth Cope. I have seen this surname linked to Quakers in NJ, but that is not to say she was one. Something to look at in the future.

Some Hundley info: I am finding various marriages between the Hundley, Rhodes and Barnes families. I believe James "Big Jim" Barnes was first married to Jane Rhodes (1811-1847) (they had three children), then he married Nancy Hundley in 1847, but their son, John Thomas was born in 1846. The bondsman Richard Rhodes at the Barnes/Hundley wedding was Jane Rhodes brother. Richard Rhodes was married to James Barnes sister Joana. I have also found a Sanford Barnes married to Johann Barnes and a Sanford Rhodes married to Martha E. Hundley.

Some more miscellaneous info I am working on:
I have found some discrepancies in Nancy Hundley's birth year.

In the 1870 census Daniel Hundley (age 23) is living with Jim Banres and Nancy (Hundley) Barnes. And living next door is Mary Hundley.

I think Nancy is connected to a Hundley family that started in Virginia, came to North Carolina and then some went on to Kentucky.

Tony Godwin, kindly answered my e-mail message. His oldest known Elizabeth Cope b. 1735 Wilkes Co. NC died 1816 Wayne Co. KY. We are showing a match with our mtDNA. His sample is also on Family Tree DNA Family Finder and we are not showing a match.

This is the same issue male descends of Moses Mackay SR. (son of Robert Sr.) Y markers match with male descends of Robert Jr. and James Sr., but not matching on Family Finder Test.

The only thing I can come up with 9th or 10th may or may not show a match. This could be the same case with Tony Godwin and me.

He also has Bolling which since we are not showing a match I think we are different group.

He will have to get his female line back additional three generations to equal the time period Elizabeth Fox born 1647. She is my 8th great-grandmother.

So our common female ancestor might be back to far to be reached by Family Tree Family Finder.
