I do not know what surnames and locations make up you. Your mtDNA will help you find out more about you. I do not know the path of your female line to say if "help to trace the Morris Family?" Me doing my mtDNA gave you one of your female lines which you would not have unless it did the test. Just as Reed Morris gave you your Morris Marker.

"Will the familyfinder test find matches to all of my surnames?" Again it depends if your distant or near cousins have turned in a test. I am descend of Isaac Morris and Elizabeth Brown, you should match with me.

If you look at your four generation pedigree chart you should have 16 persons that make up you. You personally can only supply one of the haplogroup on your chart line running across the bottom. Men can supply two of the sixteen. So you have to depend on others to give you all the rest. The Family Finder just gives you guidance to the various racial groups or haplogroups you will be seeking.

The Brunswick Co. VA Wills which Ancestry has on line missing 30 years of wills. The film I ordered through L.D.S. has the missing wills. Will Book 1 is more or less pieces of wills !!! But I will go through them in any case.

I am finding a lot of new material on our Morris Family and I am posting land deeds and wills entries on my Ancestry Tree. Ancestry changed their format ("bless them") I still have not fixed all the misleading material on my various family groups. But after I get the hang of their system I can post by year interesting items for persons in my tree.

I am finding there were other Morris Families living in Prince George Co. VA and Brunswick Co. VA. I am focus very keenly only on our small group of Morris.

And I am also finding new material for my Hicks and Seawell. It would appear I have another Rives Family (Group 8) I already have Reeves in Granville Co. NC (Group 3 and George 6). Researchers on line and Ancestry have mixed together these families as one.

After the dealing with the computer issues in connection with Ancestry Tree, I have started to post information about my various families.

I like their time line by the year and I am posting land deeds filed by Morris in Brunswick Co. VA. It is clear there were other Morris Families living in the area.

I have linked the will found from Will Book of Brunswick Co. VA which is found on line. Be aware, however, thirty years are missing from his film.

I also have posted information about each family group under "Comments" or "Notes" upper right hand corner.

I am assuming you have account with Ancestry, so you can view my tree.

Most descend of Henry Morris do not have the correct information he was the emigrate and have him linked to a Wm. Morris born in Netherlands and died in NY. How they think he was the father of a man who they say was born in VIRGINIA, I have no idea !!

I do have an ancestry account.
If there is one thing I have learned from you it is to never assume anyone else's information is correct. Sometimes there may be one accurate tree and fifty five inaccurate trees. I try to view any information found by others as possible leads for me to follow and confirm on my own. Because of this I was able to find and correct an inaccuracy in one of my other surname trees. Thank you.........

of your Family Finder test since you have the same mtDNA of "our" Elizabeth Brown, hope will give a huge jump on finding
Elizabeth's mother emigrate.

Now that I have establish the Morris Emigrate and the location before Orange Co. NC.I want to do the same for the female ancestor of said Elizabeth Brown.

There are so many different Brown Families just in Orange Co. NC, not to mention in various counties of VA. I have the female foot print for Elizabeth's mother, just now have to find her maiden name and I am sure we will snap into place to her emigrate.

The "paper documentation" would appear to point to Loudoun Co. VA from NJ, Quaker Families. I have mtDNA links with Ogden surname and various Family Finder matches with researchers who have the same family with their kits.

Now, if and when your results come in if you are showing the same kind of matches, then I will know I am on the right track.

Just looked at Ancestry Tree for the ones who have James G. to James Morris, 20 trees have assigned James G. Morris as the son of "Isaac F. Morris" and a few his father as "William Moore" ? A couple have picked up the incorrect ancestry of Elizabeth Brown.

Did see the tree of Robert Reed Morris, sad to think he is gone and I have much to tell him. Like thanks a million for your gift of Morris Y Marker. In time you will see how special was his gift.

Second thought you have Benson of Henderson Co. TN--Yes ? I believe some of my Derryberry researchers have that family. If so you should show matches with them in Family Tree DNA. Some will be on Ancestry DNA site.

I want to update the female line of descend for our Elizabeth Brown. I have two female matches but they point back into Ireland. I really do not think I will find the common female ancestor.

I am working on a female line in Rockingham Co. NC (next to Orange Co. NC) Nancy Hundley (1826-1902) born and died in Rockingham Co. NC married James Barnes. We need her mother's name. I can't find her on the 1840 census or any other Hundley. A Richard Rhodes was the bondman for this couple marriage bond. I do not know if this means a family link or not. But for the 1850 census member of the Rhodes living with them.

I also have one Family Finder match with researcher who descends from James Hundley (1795 KY-1825) married in KY to Sarah Combs.

I think the two lines are linked but I have figured out how.

No one else on Ancestry or Family Search L.D.S. appears to know the parentage of above Nancy Hundley.

I want to find a mtDNA match with my Elizabeth Brown line back to Elizabeth Fox in US rather than over in Ireland or Wales.

My first full mtDNA match was with a John Harris those oldest known female ancestor Margaret Brown born 1824 Llanidloes, Montgomery, Wales. Other on Ancestry Tree have her parents as John Brown and Jane Mathews. The odds of finding our common female link not good. He lives in GB.

Still you can find on the net information about this village in Wales.

Found my first Family Finder Match with "J.B" tree Moritz Family Tree. Stated last sign in unknown. So I did not inform him of this find. His line

Elizabeth Fox the emigrate with first husband Wm. Cook had four children:
Elizabeth Cook m. John Gregg
Amy Gregg m. Joseph Hadley last generation he had listed
Hannah Hadley (1728-1762) m. Samuel Curle members of Cane Creek MM in NC
Joseph Samuel Curl

I descend from Elizabeth Fox's daughter Grace who married into Hollingsworth Family.
