My tree on Ancestry is public The Buck Family Tree and my female test results linked to my profile. My DNA numbers on file under The Brown Site of Family Tree DNA. A male member of our family has done the Y marker kits through Family Tree DNA.

My DNA profile containing Elizabeth Brown and Isaac Brown present Ancestry DNA and Family Tree DNA. If you think you are a member send in your test results while both companies are still doing sales.

I rather doubt in the future I will do other family histories, it is really not worth the trouble. I have posted information surrounding the couple here on Michael's site.

I am researching both my family and my husbands, if I asked my daughter to submit dna tests would the results be the same as if both my husband and I submitted tests or would the results be more detailed from our tests? Thank you for your help

If you are just talking about Family Finder--if you send in your daughter's sample the results would combine both her parents. If you wanted to tell which matches came from her father's or mother's side it would be harder. And you could not tell your ethically make up from your husband, both being combined in your daughters test.

So you might be thinking you are saving money, but in the end it will cause you more work. I would say, order Family Finder one for you and the other for your husband.

Check Family Tree DNA under "Projects" to see if your husband's surname has a Site Manager. There might be a surname study being held and some like our Mackay/Mckay "free" Y marker is offer for members of our group. If you have a rare surname and no other samples have been sent you will have nothing to match again. You can look at the prices for your husbands sample could combine from his original sample his Y marker, Mitochondrial and Family Finder (autosomal)--sometimes cheaper to order the package. Yours could only be Mitochondrial and Family Finder. Your and your daughter female line the same.

At the moment Family Tree and Ancestry are having sales. I would say go with Family Tree DNA, no membership fees. You can add additional test in future from your kit site.

It is really a lot of fun doing DNA Genealogy and I wish I had it when I started doing research.

Finally have my Henry Morris of Orange Co. NC back to a earlier place in time--Pr. George Co. VA. His father's will on line and I am showing Family Finder matches with one of his other children. Will be looking for more.

Henry Morris b. 1695 Prince George Co. VA died 1783 Pr. George had two wives

m-1 Mary.........?

1. Martha Morris b. 2 Jun 1725
2. Sara Morris d. 1733 had son John Morris

m-2 Susannah.......?

3. Elizabeth Morris b. 6 Oct 1726 m. 28 Sep 1748 George Bailey had daughter named Holly Bailey who married Thomas Stith (son of Drury)

4. Wm. Morris b. 1727 m. Frances Rainey had a daughter Mary Morris who married Daniel Dugger

5. Mary Morris b. 22 Oct 1728 m. Wm. Rainey have two DNA matches with researchers who descend from this couple

6. Susannah Morris b. 1729 m. ...........Smith

7. Richard Morris b. 1730 m. Susannah..........?

8. Henry Morris b. 1732 my line removed to Orange Co. NC

I have my eye on the emigrate ancestor of this Henry Morris. I show three Family Finder matches with the daughter of Isaac Morris of Amelia Co. VA died 1743. His daughters and other children fully documented on paper. I think I know this line back to the emigrate, but I do not know the link between my line and this Isaac.

We have only one Y marker for my group of Morris. 3rd cousin Reed Morris descend of my Isaac Morris of Orange Co. NC and Henderson Co. TN, still looking for more. Really want to find a male Morris living in VA match Reed Morris.

Ancestry Family Finder "jacksaunders111" descend of Henry Morris Sr. through eldest son Wm. Morris and wife Frances Rainey. I have posted to my tree in Ancestry all the entries from Brunswick Co. VA to Orange Co. NC (on line)for his line. I believe members of the Rainey Family also removed from Brunswick Co. VA into Orange Co. NC. Frances daughter of a Wm. of Brunswick Co. VA.

I have lots and lots of film to read from NC. The areas my families lived in VA that film is not on line at the moment.
