As I am moving I am trying to get my books and papers in ordered.

Would you be interested, if possible, to put my Mackay book on your site. With the hope people would give your site a small payment. I only have the paper copy. You would have to figure out if you can scan it.

I also have my re-typed copy of Hunter B. McKay Fairfax Land Suit. Somewhere.

If other could add comments, correction etc...to the body of the text. That would be good. We could key in the text where we are finding DNA evidence.

I have no plans now or in the future to update my work of 1997. Just too much work!!.

Would like to know soon as possible so I can seek out those copies or copy. I am moving 18th July to

43145 Sunderland Terrace
#205
Broadlands, VA 20148

703-638 9834 giving up my land line just cell phone

My new location is in Loudoun Co. VA. This is where my mitochondrial DNA line I believe lived before removing to Orange Co. NC. Still looking for the maiden name of Margaret wife of John Brown. I will also be near Goose Run Meeting House, where my John Brown might have been a member before leaving Society of Friends.

E-mail me or call if interested.

I had been meaning to ask if I could incorporate that in the the genealogy records I have on the website. I have the entire 1891 Steer Genealogy incorporated into the genealogy records plus updates I have made to it so far.

Yeah, I'll have to make a separate section for that one. Too bad you don't have it in some kind of electronic format that I can just copy and paste.

I might have a copy of the 1997 edition. If you published three versions of "A Tabulated" etc. then I'm sure I have a copy. Right now I'm on holiday with my girlfriend and her daughter in England visiting her parents so I won't really know for sure until I return.

I know I have a copy of The Fairfax Land Suit.

I also have "LeHew, Branson & Millar", "Ancestry of Elizabeth Antrim" & "A Tabulated Genealogy of the family of Jacob Sowers".

I've been currently working on adding my own family tree to the website making it easier for me to jump to a particular set of ancestors. You can see what I have added so far by clicking on this link:

I just have done 1997 of Mackay Family. My print copy would be a clean copy to place on line. I have only done once each Lehew, Sowers & Antrim. It would be the Sowers Family I have learned so much more than found in my work of that family. But I really do not plan to rework it.

If you rather just use what you have that would save me a trip to post office--that's up to you.

hey Michael,
Last week I received notification of a new match from FamilyTreeDNA. I am sure you did also. I believe it was "Seamus" Michael W McCoy. I recognize all the other names.

The interesting part is, per the Ancestral Origins section, it now says that Ireland is part of the exact match. That is now a first. It used to say Wales, England and Scotland. Obviously people moved and our family was here before the Scottish Clearance, when many Scottish ended up in Ireland. I wonder where the Ireland comes from. Seamus McCoy lists our Robert McKay Sr as his blood line. I guess that just opens this up to further interpretation and presses the fact that we do not know where we are from outside of the General British / Irish Isles.

Thoughts?

Belfast, Ireland was a location back in 1950's people passed around as the birth place of Robert Mackay. Unless the researcher can show a real record as the birth place of Robert it is UNKNOWN. People can put any location they want does not make it correct.

I noticed kit of Thomas Odell oldest known ancestor Isaac Odell 1807-1872 lived in Cocke Co. TN. He could be from the line of Moses Sr. (your line) to Abraham to Abraham McKay who married Catherine Nichols. If he did a Family Finder test he might see other matches with various surnames.

If you were to do a Family Finder test would be nice to see if you are matching with the matches I have with Mackay in Scotland.

HI Dee Ann,

I did do a test, a 37-DNA test with FamilyTree. Sorry if that was not clear. I match with the Robert MacKay Sr matches on DNAFamily Tree, such as Michael L McKay, the ODell matches, etc.

So the interesting part is that I match with someone with ancestral origins of Ireland. Again, that is per the Ancestral Origins section. I always thought that the ancestral origins section was related to the DNA tests itself. I never stated in my profile that I was scottish, english or welsh.

However, Seamus does list in his profile that Robert McKay is from Ireland. So I am not curious if that is my Ireland shows up in the ancestral origins section of the profile. That is the area that breaks out your matches whether it be 12, 25 and 37, etc.

Thoughts?
