Hey Dee Ann,
Do you have it confirmed that George Henry Sowers is a descendant of Robert Mackay Sr. through his mother Catherine Jenkins?
I'm working on updating the genealogy records and wanted to know if that connection has been established or not.

Off the bat, I would not say his middle name was Henry. He could have been named for cousin James Harvey Sowers. I have a land deed recorded James' middle name was Harvey.
I have never found an original record stating that George's middle name was Henry. I believe people have ASSUMMED it was Henry.
As far as documentation for the parentage of Elizabeth McKay/McKoy parentage I have been posting my DNA results here.
This woman would have been George H. Sowers' grandmother. The original marriage record has been lost by county government. The only record I have been able to find compiled on micofilm (by State of VA). Spelling of the surname as McKoy. She married Wm. Jenkins and I BELIEVE his family were also once Quakers came down from PA. And were members of Hopewell Friend Meeting House, VA. I have a DNA match with this group of Jenkins. Needless to say there are many many different Jenkins families just in the State of VA.
Some old information from the 1950's has made its way on the net recording that Elizabeth was a member of Robert MCKEE family of Northern Ireland & Shenandoah Co. VA. That is just false. His daughter removed to OH. This group of McKee were never Quakers.
I have all the names of John McKay's children and I am just waiting for additional DNA results to link them together. I have some paper documentation which points to them been siblings. Most likely, except for my line, left State of VA. I believe I have already posted their names here.
Only one researcher has confirmed some of the same matches I have found for Elizabeth McKay surnames, but only one. This would be "Cnicewarner". The researcher "Oldlyme29" still wants to believe she is a member of McKee and not our Mackay/McKay. So I have three researchers who descend from Elizabeth McKoy/McKay & Wm. Jenkins.
Years ago a researcher posted a message on your site about Jane McKay who married Joseph Cooper. I would really like to find her.
I hope in future to hear from each of the children of John McKay & Alice Pugh. And to see if they have the same matches as I have.
As far as Alice Pugh being the wife of my John McKay, I have documentation as far as her birth date (Hopewell Friends) and her parentage. I have DNA matches with various members of Pugh & Malin families. And will be, of course, looking for more.
It would really help if others shared their DNA matches with the public, but I guess that is asking too much of people.

I'm aware of some Jenkins families in the Hopewell Friends History. Doubt mine connect there. Mine came up from Page to Shenandoah county.

I have a Autosomal DNA match with one of this group of Jenkins. I have not found the time to see if their Quaker records of PA have been compiled.

I am looking at the following Jenkins line:
1. Evan Jenkins born 1685 Middlesex Co. England, came to colony 1729, d. 1737 PA married to Alice.......? b. 1690. Need the names of their children. This information according to my Autosomal Match has the following line.
2. Jacob Jenkins b. 7 Dec 1715 Radnor, Delaware Co. PA, m. Elizabeth Rogers, d. 14 Sep 1795 Hampshire VA/WV. His wife was the daughter of John Rogers & Ellen PUGH. They came to Hopewell Friends in 1772. They had nine children names can be found among Quaker records. Two married into Hogg family and another link with PUGH family.
3. Evan Jenkins b. 1750, m. Elizabeth Conrad, d. Jun 1834. This is the couple I have Autosomal Match with, however we also are distant cousin from Gerrard Edwards.
I have another records that a Evan & Sarah Jenkins arrived from Haverford Meeting, England to Goshenn Meeting, Chester Co. PA in 1729. There was another Wm. Jenkins in same location on jury duty in 1689.
On my direct line Wm. Jenkins who died 1807 in Frederick Co. VA, I do not the name of his wife and only three of his children: Edward, Jeremiah b. 1764 PA (according to 1850 census), Wm. (my line married Elizabeth McKay) & Patsey Jenkins.
At any rate, George H. Sowers did have links with the Quakers of Hopewell Meeting or Crooked Run Meeting Houses.
I will be looking for additional matches in the future.
