Shenandoah Co. VA Will Book H, page 85, estate account of Isaac McKay dated 26 Jan 1811, administer Sophia McKay.
This McKay: Moses Sr. to son Isaac Jr. wife Betty Withers, their son Isaac McKay married Sophia Burns.
Found Shenandoah Co. VA Will Book T, page 223 the recording of the estate sales and accounts of Robert Gaw probated 8 Feb 1836. Starts on page 222, ends 238.
This man had a very large estate, including household items, stock animals & slaves and at his estate sale a number of books in German. So I guess he was of German ancestry. Members of my Ship family purchased items and well as surnames which would appear were German.
But for our McKay family study, besides Robert Gaw having his own slaves, I have their names, his estate hired a slave named MINGO from Lewis, Jeremiah & Wm. McKay. Each due from the estate $3.33.
This document clearly stated that Jeremiah & Wm. were brothers, said Jeremiah McKay collected his brother William's share.
The line of Isaac McKay (son of Isaac son of Moses) children can be documented from sales of their father's lands in Shenandoah Co. VA

Isaac McKay Jr. m. Sophia Burns had six children
1. Lewis McKay removed to Garrard Co. KY then Shelby Co. IL
2. Isaac McKay died Garrard Co. KY
3. Mary McKay m. Joseph Gaw, son of said Robert Gaw
4. Jeremiah McKay
5. Wm. McKay
6. Fielding McKay
The sons left VA, I have no further information about Mary (McKay) Gaw
This line down from Moses Sr. to Isaac to Isaac is the most documented line as far as paper, but I have not found DNA samples for them.
As far as African-American researchers who might want to know--how & when these McKay men came to own Mingo I can't say. Their mother was member of Burns family (wealthy) and grandmother Withers (wealthy). Wm. McKay sold a slave named Mink to Isaac Overal in 1828.
It would appear the brothers left VA and kept slave Mingo hired out and received the monies living in KY or IL. There might be further records of what happened to him in later legal documents.
