I should have said George Owens not George Allen. There are Owens living in Northampton Co. VA then Nicholas, Mary and Peter Lehew lived but I see no George OWENS.
The Wm. Allens people have linked to our Frances Allen lived in different locations where her group of Allen most likely lived. Prince Wm. Co. VA records have been destroyed, so finding her true parentage I do not if possible. I believe there was once a book dealing with the life of Capt. Wm. Allen of England and VA but no longer in print.

Found on Ancestry DNA Project researcher "candgnic" descend of Peter Lehew through his son William Lehew. Found on page 61 of my Lehew Book. She has placed the wife of Nicholas as Mary Owens and has the line back a few more generations in VA. If correct I have not idea. The same is true for the wife of Peter Lehew, Frances Allen. The location are wrong for the given parentage, rather doubt if it is correct. All of this linked to the blood lines of my gr-gr-grandmother Ann Elizabeth LEHEW
Also descend of Eliza Bird Kellam 1706-1754 m. John Huffington. She brings the surname back five generations. If correct I have no idea. Some of the location are questionable. This surname is on my mother's side of my tree. Being part of the blood lines of my 5 great grandmother Elizabeth Kellam married Joshua Gist.
Also descend of Maria Margaret Susannah Zumwalt born 1733 Niederauerback, Zwibruder, Germany d. 1767 married to John Link, not clear if and when she removed to US. My line came from Alsace Lorraine, France by 1730's settled in PA. This line goes into my Snyder family married into Hopgood. Being part of the blood lines of my 4 great-grandmother Catherine Zumwalt.
Also descend of Thomas Etheridge & Christian Marrington of early VA. My line married into Nash family into Barber into Reynolds into Johnston into Mitchell into Sowers. Blood line of my great-grandmother Etta Double Sowers.
I wish Ancestry DNA Project had a chromosome browser like Family Tree DNA. This person could be a distant cousin four times over. She also has Roth (could be linked with my Shipp), Grubb (looking for link with Robert Mackay) & Bolling.
Very nice Y Marker Study being done for the descends of Richard Kellam R-M269 we have 7 markers turned in for our line verse the whole of over 20. Under my own control I have found many Family Finder matches.
I have managed through paper documentation and DNA linked by Elizabeth Kellam (1749-1818) married Joshua Gist back to emigrate Richard Kellam. We have a Y marker from a man still living in England matches to our. And I have one Family Finder to a man with Kellam on his listing of names now living in England. This is what we need to find for our Robert Mackay's numbers.
The Gist Family is a well studied family with documents and DNA. A number of them have joined D.A.R.
Kellam also could join the D.A.R. for a number of them were in the army with my Joshua Gist.
I have discovered my Kellam line through the marriage with Frances West, her family has a link to Emperor Charlemagne. So out of my four grandparents three have links to The Emperor: first grandmother Daisy L. (McKay) through Garwood, two lines for my grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp through Baylor and now Roy Dennis Hopgood through West.

I wish it was true that researchers have documented the ancestry of Nancy Foley wife of Spencer Lehew and Frances Allen wife of Peter Lehew. But when you ask for the documentation they get really MAD !!
I am 5th great grand son of Spencer and Nancy. I have proven my lineage to Spencer and have gotten him approved for Patriot Service with S.A.R. / BUT I am trying to do same for James FOLEY, father of Nancy. S.A.R. will not accept application for James unless I can provide following:
1) need documentation that Nancy is actually daughter of James and Mary Young. At very least need to have this listed in a "qualified" genealogical book - not just a family history book. Ancestry.com does not qualify.
2) need to document birth and /or death date and place of Nancy I have spoken with "History Society" in Front Royal and they have no record of her burial there.
3) I have participated in the DNA projects with Ancestry and with FTDNA but have not had any "hits" with any Foley or Lehew cousins - any ideas ?

I complied Fauquier Co. VA Wills 1759-1799 still have copies for sale. James Foley DID NOT name Nancy Foley as a daughter. His wife in his will named as Elizabeth. Cost $10.00 to me or you can order the film through L.D.S. library system. I do not know if they have placed it on line or not.

I compiled the early land deeds for Fauquier Co. VA but they are sold out, so you will have to view the information for yourself on film. Said James Foley mentioned in some of the early deeds.
So "S.A.R." is right in not accepting what you find on the net. James was not Nancy (Foley) Lehew's father. Try to get people to name their sources!!!!. If they are putting the information on line, then they could be able to say what are their sources.
State of VA does have Fauquier Chancery Suit on line and indexed, you might try to see if Foley Families listed.
I have DNA matches with other Lehew cousins and I have posted them on my tree on Ancestry. I also have matches with researchers with Family Tree DNA. Why are not not matching I can not say.
I have just ordered a third kit with 23 & Me. I want to see if I can find additional 1st, 2nd or 3rd cousins.
There is so much false information people have posted on their trees which then gets linked to their DNA samples.
I do not know if documentation exist for early Pr. Wm. Co. VA. That is where you need to look for Nancy Foley and Spencer Lehew.
I do not think people have the documentation for Nicholas Lehew wife as Mary Owen nor do they have the parentage for Frances Allen. All posted on line for the world to see and copy and spread around some more with no one questioning !!
Last week the TV show "You Do You Think You Are" gave John McCain as being cousin to George Washington, used Ancestry material which I know is wrong !!

Ancestry DNA matches has sample "JP" tree Padrick Family Tree descend of Mary Lehew who married Richard POMEROY. The records I have found for this line Mary Lehew married 5 Nov 1792 in Frederick Co. VA to Richard PUSEROW. This is the same surname as recorded in Spencer Lehew's will. Found on page 10 and 11 of my Lehew Book. Could be a question of change in spelling the surname or wrong blood line for said researcher.
Spencer Lehew and wife Nancy Foley had 10 children, including my line I have two DNA matches with daughters: Mary and now Eda Lehew who married Jacob VanNort.
