I believe there is a study being conducted dealing with our Louis DuBois, however I do not know if a close DuBois cousin has send in a sample.

DuBois is very far up my particular Pedigree Chart.

People do not care if the information they are passing around is correct or not, they just want to fill in the spaces of their chart--quickly and at no cost.

Just go to various web site on the net or look at Ancestry Trees.
Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "A.P." also descend through Louis' son Solomon Dubois, my line through his son Isaac.

Also another line from Louis through son Abraham Dubois.

Lots of the descends of Louis Dubois found in this DNA site.

If you think you belong to his family, just do DNA test.

Out of the 46, I known of 6 are descendants of my line of DuBois. I have a double line from Catherine DuBois who married Wm. Millar.

1. SMH--private on Ancestry, have a entry on Family Tree

2. moromans--Catryntje DuBois b. 1692 NY, she also cousin through Reeves Bolen

3. Ted Simmons also a descend of Wm. Miller & Catherine DuBois

4. Cllarge also descend of Abraham DuBois (1657-1731)

5. theshockness also descend of Abraham DuBois

6. Pliabraaten also descend of Abraham DuBois

I am not going to list the others here, but what is interesting the number of DNA samples people still living in France, one Kent Co. England and Canada.

Like the MacKay samples a number of my DuBois cousin removed to Canada.
Ancestry DNA Project researcher "MW" descend of Phillippe Dubois (1698-1772) born Issoudun, Berry Parish, France married Genevieve Berger through son Jean Baptiste DuBois (1725-1790) born Issoudun, Berry Parish of Cyr, Bourges France.

She does not give any more information. Others on Ancestry have this line going from France to Canada. Still others bring the line back five to six generation into 1400's in France.

The common ancestor with our line of Dubois: Chretien DuBois born c1595 died 1654 married to Henrietta De Boislev, our Louis said to be from Wicres, Artois, France.

Their DuBois older generation was Pierre Dubois born 1568 Wicres, France died 1624 same location married Jeanne Desmullie.

I have no idea if this couple were are common ancestor. Her families did not live in the same locations as mine. So my guess is we are distant DuBois cousins.

You can check out the information found on Ragan Family Tree and I have no idea if correct. But the DNA link is somewhere on that line.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "dianakennedy1959"
descend of Louis DuBois & wife Catherine Blanchan through their son Jacob DuBois born 1661 NY marrried Lysbeth Vernooy.

I descend from two of their sons: Solomon (has two kits) & Abraham (has four kits).

So if you think you have DuBois ancestry, just do the test.

This researcher also has Durant ancestry in common with me.

She also has Pilcher from Wales, but I am not sure my Pilcher belongs to the same group.

Found on Family Tree DNA three researchers have Dubois as surname on their list:

1. James Wm. DuBois descend of Isaac Dubois 1665-1721 given as his oldest male ancestor Hits #7 31.13 rather large amount of DNA could be link with another line as well. He has no tree on his entry.

2. Donie Young Hits #1 8.96 this small amount of DNA in line with being 9th to 10th cousin. She has no tree on her site

3. Ronald Layne Beaubien Hits #14 8.89 this small amount of DNA in line with being 9th to 10th cousin. He has no tree on his site.

It would be nice is other McKay cousin who also descend from Anne E. (Lehew) McKay would say if they match with the above kits.

I have had matches with researchers who claim to be descends of DuBois who stayed in Frances and then removed to Canada. Since I have not seen others posting these kind of matches, I have not bothered. These are kits like Mackay/McKay that I am reaching back 10th to 12th generations. I would like to know if others are finding these same reach of DNA matches.
