Sarah Bessie McKay female, white, single, born 12 Aug 1885 in Warren Co. VA, parents Robert McKay & Lucy Baylis Buck both born in Warren Co. VA, died 28 Jul 1917 of cancer of liver, buried in Nineveh, VA on 29 Jul 1917, informant C.F. McKay of Suffolk, VA"
I am totally confused about Robert & Lucy McKay children. Did they have two daughters named Sarah Bessie & Sadie B. McKay ?

Family of Robert & Lucy McKay living in Warren Co. VA in 1910: Robert McKay 63 years, married 30 years to Lucy 61 years, had FIVE children and FOUR alive for 1910 census, Charles 28, Carroll 27, Sadie 24, Percy 22.
This census is more in line with the new information from death certificate. I have no idea why her name given as Sarah Bessie on death record and on grave marker as Sadie B. McKay.
Why her birth record twice on Warren Co. VA Birth Registry, also have no idea.
Hope to find out more about my VA ancestors & cousins as I go through State of VA Death Records.

Sadie is a nickname for Sarah as I've always heard.

State of VA Reel 39, #29833 information given really not complete.
"Robert McKay male, white, marrried, born 1 Sep 1849 in Warren Co. VA, farmer, father Robert McKay born in Warren Co. VA, mother not given, informant O.C. McKay of Cedarville, VA, died 9 Dec 1915 of Cerebral Hemorrhage, buried Nineveh, VA" on 11? or 12 Dec 1915"
