I found him on Family Tree DNA under surname Hiatt. He kindly send a reply to my e-mail and descends from George Hiatt of early Frederick Co. VA. His 8th great-great-grandfather.

He made the statement which I agree "Family tree DNA says familyfinder only work back 6 generation, but that isn't so. I have successfully found small connections at relation that is back 10 generations"

So I do not have magically DNA, others who work at it can find the same as I have posted here. It just takes time and effort. I do not know if it makes a differents that I have doubt lines: Richards (1st cousin married), Sowers (1st cousins once removed married), Branson (1st cousins married), McKay (4th? cousins married), Ridgeway (distant), Stockton (distant), DuBois (1st cousins), Cozart (4th or 5th cousins) & Melton (triple).

Compiled back in 1951 Hiatt Family book containing 1013 pages. I will have to check at our local library.

My line, of course, not traced. So I have some work to do. I have not found at others have figured out how my Mary Catherine Hiatt fits into the family tree.

He went on to said his mother's side as Plymouth settlers (Roger Warren) in her line. So if interested in those emigrate, a descend's sample waits you in Family Tree DNA.
Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "PKing55" descend of

1. Wm. Hiatt & Alice
2. John Hiatt (1674-1726) m. Mary Smith
3. George Hiatt (1698 England-1793 NC) m. Martha Wakefield
4. Ruth Hiatt (1735 Bucks Co. PA-1809) m. Zacharias Dick

I have not confirmed my line from Wm. & Alice Hiatt. I have many DNA matches with their descendants.

Though Ancestry DNA I am showing three DNA matches with researchers who state that their Green Family Line goes back to Robert Duff Green who was married to Eleanor Dunn. He as we know partner of Robert Mackay Sr.

The above households in Henderson Co. KY were descend of said couple.

I hope this is the lead I badly need in proving the ancestry of Sarah E. Snyder.
Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "Allented" (Patricia Lambert Allen Family) descend of John Green born 1798 died 1872 TX husband to Nancy Polly Littlepage.

Others on Ancestry Tree name his parents as Wm. Green & Lucy Blackwell and line goes by to Robert Green partner of Robert Mackay.

I do not see other lines where we might share. Does have Hackney of early DE, which I am interested in finding out more.

Found on Ancestry DNA Project "AHS" descend of Hans Jacob Schaub born 1648 died 1715 husband to Susanna Buser. I descend from another one of their sons: Jacob Schaub born 1680 died 1724 husband to Barbara Wurtz.

He takes the line back four or five generations into Switzerland.

I am really not doing research dealing with my various line back in parts of Europe. It is enough to learn who were my emigrate ancestors.

With my gr-gr-grandmother Sarah E. Snyder, her final resting place, believed, but not known. I have DNA matches for her various surnames: Snyder, Wentz, Mayer, Hiatt (not linked), Schaub, Bush & Stingley.
Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "gjdrake" her tree Drake Family Tree looking for the parentage of Elizabeth Niclaus Schaub born 1672 Bassel, Switzerland and died 1718 same location married to Nichaus Tschudi, their daughter Mary would come to this county and died in present day WVA.

My emigrate ancestor was Hans Jakob Schaub born 1714 same location and died 1772 Hampshire Co. VA/WV married to Anna Barbara Heyer. My line from this couple to Rudolph to another Jaocb to Catherine Shobe (change of spelling) married Peter Snyder they parents of my Sarah E. Snyder who died Union Co. KY.

I have the line of my emigrate back two additional generation in this part of Switzerland to Hans Jacob Schaub born 1648 died 1715.

Most of the other trees on Ancestry do not have the parentage of said Elizabeth, a few have different parents than my line from Hans Jacob.

I have other DNA matches for my Schaub line, perhaps she is another match ?

Family Tree DNA has given me a match with researcher Mr. Loyd George Coonrod Jr. Hitting on #21 16.37.

His e-mail has confirmed we are both descends of Johan W.A. Zumwalt & his wife Anna C.M. Jacobs (some say Fite).

This couple were my 6th great-grandparents.

My son Brandan P. Buck does not show a match with him. I guess he could not reach back to 7th great-grandparents. But in some cases he has.

Only one Zumwalt sample on Family Tree DNA, but in Ancestry DNA I have matched nine other researchers' samples.

This DNA matching has confirmed that Daniel Snider who married in Washington Co. MD to Catherine Zumwalt became the parents of my Peter Snyder who died in Henderson Co. KY He married in Ross Co. OH to Catherine Shobe (I have two DNA samples with Shobe) and they were the parents of my great-great-grandmother Sarah E. Snyder.

I have been waiting for 25 years to find the ancestry of said Sarah E. Snyder and it has been DNA which has opened the door.
Researcher "cindyward1958" tree Ward Family Tree descend of Johan W.A. Zumwalt and wife Anne C. M. Jacobs through daughter Catherine. There are five other researcher who descend from said couple and have submitted their DNA samples to the public.

This bit of DNA finds its way to my grandfather Roy D. Hopgood and confirms the blood lines of Sarah E. Snyder who married George G. Hopgood.

This bit of DNA confirms once again the blood lines of my grandfather Roy D. Hopgood.

Her DNA sample on file through Family Tree DNA. She descend from Elizabeth Shobe daughter of Rudolph Shobe.

I descend from Rudolph's son Jacob Shobe who died in 1823 in Ross Co. OH was the husband of Mary Bush. Their daughter Catherine Shobe married in Ross Co.OH 3 Jul 1820 to Peter Snider.

They were the parents of my 3rd great grandmother Sarah E. Snyder.

So her DNA sample freely shared with the public I have been able to confirm again my Shobe to Snyder/Snider connection.

I now know the surnames in Sarah E. Snyder's tree: Snyder, Wentz, Bissinger, Zumwalt, Hiatt, Shobe, Heyer, Hire, Bush, Hyer, Stingley & Bosserdt.

Most I have back to the emigrate and I have no plans to do research among German & Swiss records.
Researcher "Rebecca moss 58" tree Moss Family Tree we are 7th cousin once removed our common ancestors; Christopher Snyder and wife Anna C.E. Wentz. Her tree takes the surname back two more generations in Germany.

I do not see other surnames in common with her. She has Wright, but if the information is true found on line, not my group of Wright. She also has Frey, ancestress Maria M. Frey born 1716 in France died 1785 PA. There is links with this surname and my Schipp living in that part of PA. I have not found a DNA match with just a Frey researcher.

Through various Autosomal DNA Matches I have been able to determine which group of Snider/Snyder I belong.

Coupled with what documentation I have collected over the years, these DNA matches have allowed me to focus the areas of PA, OH, IN & KY I need further paper research.

My Sarah E. Snyder was the fourth generation of her family to come and live in US.

Not a surprize but she was also entirely of German stock and now I can explain DNA matches I have found with various German surnames.

The rest of unknown German names I believe I will be able to link with my Schipp & Sowers.
I first found George G. Hopgood's first wife the old way--by paying to view film through Family History in Omaha, NE. Name Sarah E. Snyder. First visited the location of her unmarked grave in 1988. You can't tell by view George G. Hopgood's grave marker and his second wife's graves on "Find a Grave" unless you visit the location yourself. Empty space between the two of them.

I spend about 25 years trying to figure out Sarah E. Snyder's parentage from the bits and pieces of paper. Then came DNA. Family Finder just started up about 2012.

Really only through my various FAMILY FINDER MATCHES that I have been able to discover and confirm her blood lines. My thanks to all my distant cousin who have filed their DNA samples through Family Tree DNA or Ancestry Family Finder and made the results PUBLIC.

My latest Ancestry Family Finder Match--common ancestor Johanna Bush and Eva C. Plattner. I descend from their son Lewis Bush to Leonard Bush to Mary Bush to Catherine Shobe to my Sarah E. Snyder. Just a piece of DNA from a common ancestor showing up in two 7th cousin DNA samples. This simple act confirms to both us our line of descend from the J. Bush and E. Plattner.

Researcher "DCMKE" found Ancestry Family Finder has his picture included on his entry, the sixth kit from Johanna H. Bush but his sample "Locked" but showed a "Green Leaf", which means Ancestry knew of our match and he knew our match, but I was "locked" out of this DNA evidence.

It only by sharing this kind of information that decades of our mysteries surrounding our family histories can be discovered.

George G. Hopgood & Sarah E. Snyder had five children: Minni C., George Allen, Augustine G., Henry H. & Ida Kate Hopgood, looking at the census information three of her children reported mother born in PA, one IN and one KY (my H.H. Hopgood who in marriage records stated near Cincinnati, OH).

Hope the three are right, because I know where I need to look for her birth being report. I still think most likely she was born in OH.
Sarah E. Snyder had two daughters only one Ida Kate Hopgood who married Henry Fairfax Riddle had daughters. Looking for one of their female descends to do MT DNA test, to know which Haplogroup she belonged.

Their children also distant Hampton cousins.

I just came across your post regarding your Snyder ancestry. I am a descendant of Jacob & Magdalena (Bissinger) Snyder, through their son Ludwick Snyder. I am very interested in discussing our research - I see you are a descendant of Daniel Snyder. I was surprised to see that you list his place of death as Bedford County.

The trees that contain Christopher and Catherina (Wentz) Schneider as the parents of the Jacob Schneider/Snyder who died in Frederick Co., Md. in 1778 are mistaken. I have never seen any documentation that proves it and I don't know where the conjecture comes from. The only Jacob Schneider born in Gruenwettersbach at that time was the son of Johannes & Catharina (Radel) Schneider. That's the emigrant to PA in 1751.
