Received a call last night about my Fauquier Co. VA Land Deeds Books still available for sale and also interested in Mosby Company. I believe she wants to know about her ancestor murdered by a member of this group of Civil War Soldiers. She knew my ancestor Thomas B. McKay was member of this group, but I have not heard about any murder.

I told the caller to check and post a message on this site.

These are the books still for sale, then they will be out of print and researchers can read, abtract and compile the information from these films for themselves. Each books make up of four or five films, depending if you have to pay for film rental, these books are a "cheaper" way to go. It took me 10 years to read, compile, type, edit and run off these films into these books.

Doing these books have help me chase my Fauquier Co. VA families back in time to when they lived in counties to the east in VA--Stafford, King George, Middlesex, King Wm. Co. VA, Culpeper etc....

I am starting my project of abtraction of Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deeds, hope to have my first book out in Jan 2011--Deeds 1820-1830 Books AA-HH.

Since Amelia C. Gilbreath's book Shenandoah Co. VA Wills 1772-1850, she only abtracted the wills filed, with very little information contained in each will. She has missed abtracting a lot of information researchers can find in these will books like-- executor reports, inventories, slave division, land division, sales etc....She also did not abtract information found in these records dealing with slave information.
