Found on State of VA Reel 2, Book 4, page 381 Orange Co. VA Land Deed
John McCoy (signed as Mackay) & his wife Alice sold their share of 88a, their portion 35, situated in Orange Co. VA, it being once a gift given by John Taliaferro to Ann Christopher (wife of John) for her natural life, after her death to be divided between her two daughter: Alice & Sarah JAMES, said Alice had intermarried with said John McCoy. Both John & Alice signed with their mark.
Dated 28 May 1741, probated May 1741.
Given the age of John, I do not think related to our group of McKay/Mackay family started by Robert Mackay Sr.
This film had deed filed by said Robert Sr.'s son Robert Mackay Jr. (sic).
