From Family Tree DNA Family Finder resesearcher Stanley H. Heiskell and I share two different chromosome areas:I received an e-mail from Joel Sowers:
"Responding to you post of July 11,2010. My Sowers line was Frederick County, MD, where yours is VA. But I do have DNA, so if you are successful in getting DNA from your VA Sowers I would like to compare. My John Sowers died in 1745 in MD. Three of his children, including my ancestor Jacob Sowers moved to Floyd County, VA around 1790"

What about it, any of our Sowers, would like to submit a sample through Family Tree DNA to help with our research.
#3 for 17.04 (assuming Hampton)
#11 for 19.94 (assuming Sowers, I have a double line)
So it will be interesting to see where Michael's Sowers DNA material shows up.
As far as the Hampton family, which they have on their pedigree chart, they have the wrong group of Hampton. If they pedigree chart was right they would not been showing the second match if they really did descend from the English Hampton.
My group and their descend from the Quaker John Hampton of Scotland and early N.J. next generation his son John who died 1747 in Frederick Co. VA had son George who married Mary Colston their daughter Isabella married Jacob Sowers.
They have connected above George to the group of English Hampton who lived in the area of Frederick Co. VA before the children of John Hampton (Quaker)
arrived.
The large book by Virginia G. Meynard "The Venturers" is all about this group of Hampton.
I have been fighting for years about this issue with researchers. Family Tree DNA does have a small study about the Y markers for these two groups of Hamptons. But now we can settle the issue when dealing with females of the line.
