An entry found The Georgia Genealogical Magazine" Jan 1965, from "The Files of Southern Recorder"
"14 Aug 1833 at the residence of Jacob P. Turner near Milledgeville on 10th Mr. Robert McKay, a native of Cromartie, Scotland. He was engaged in blasting rock in Mr. Farmer's well about 80' deep, and the blast explosed while he was loading. Had been in the U.S. five or six years but only a few months in Georgia. Was @ 32 years, Funeral at Methodist Church next day, conducted by Rev. Harrison, Was buried in Milledgeville"
