There are four reseachers who I share DNA with who also have Derryberry as one of their surnames.
1. "dskrams950" also a descend of E.H. Derryberry. We share other TN families. Incorrect information as to linking E.H. Derryberry to John & Ann (Buck) Derryberry of early Essex Co. VA.
2. "bjlaw1" from the line of Jacob Derryberry to Abraham Derryberry who married Mary Starkley (I don't know if really proven). He takes his line back also to John & Ann (Buck) Derryberry of early Essex Co. VA. But we share Carrington & Cozart DNA.
3. "armayfield" same line as #2 We share Mangum ancestry.
So #2 & #3 I think we shared DNA from other families and not Derryberry.
4. "camillehartley45" she is from the line Jacob line as #2 & #3. But she has the most interesting surname EPLEY. The location in early York Co. PA. I am showing Autosomal match with one of her distant cousin on Risedel & Epley families.
And other researchers who share this Epley surname and I do not see other surnames I might have in common.
Something I will want to check in the future.
What would be nice if these Derryberry cousin found on Ancestry would tranfer their sample to Family Tree DNA and see if they match with the four known Derrberry men.
All needs original records are on line through L.D.S. system--Burke Co. NC Wills and Land Deeds. If researchers would read these important original records we might figure out all these different families.
I never found in these records linking together Derryberry (different spellings) men as being related. They might have been brothers or cousins, but I think far more distant cousins than first degree.

This is very odd, I just checked the Morris Family Tree D.N.A. project for Morris listing of test results. I saw my distant cousin James G. Morris listing he match not with other Morris but with Isaac HOLLINGSWORTH I 1
Our Morris lived in Orange Co. NC to Henderson Co. TN.
Wonder who he was ?
I have taken the time to post all the information I can find dealing with the various family group of Henry Morris Sr. I have posted the line of Reed Morris (who supplied our Y marker) down to the 1940 census. Many of the various family groups I have been able thanks to Ancestry to bring the lines down to 1940.
My branch left Orange Co. NC for Henderson Co. TN. I have been able to find the lines started by Isaac Morris and Elizabeth Brown. There were other groups of Morris living in Henderson Co. TN one married into my Melton Family and they are not related to ours.
My Isaac's brother John removed from Orange Co. NC down to AL and I have found his various lines.
Henry Jr.'s son Richard was the only line to remain in Orange Co. NC. I will be viewing Orange Co. NC land deeds to fill in his lines. This is the line of Isaac Morris who was whipped in public for some wrong doing married to Nancy Cheek.
I believe the Y marker who fathered Isaac Hollingsworth of Screven Co. GA must be from Henry Sr. son Wm. who had a son Henry born c1752. I will be trying to find if his male issue removed to GA.
Researchers seem to be saying Jesse Morris (1780-1826) was born in VA died in GA, his grave marker on Find a Grave. If he was really born in VA, then he would have to be the line Henry Sr. to Wm. to Henry Morris.
People who have him linked to other groups of Morris are just wrong--The DNA Match--proves he belongs to our small group of Morris started by Henry Morris from England.

Ancestry does not have earlier census for Screvin Co. GA on line. Found on 1820 census for that location Jesse Morris male 26-44. Believe the same man found on Find a Grave Jesse Morris born 1780 VA died 1826 Screvin Co. GA. He was fathering children about the same age group as Isaac Hollingsworth born 1808.
Men could be missed on the census for this location but he is the only one I can find.
Until I see different I have ruled out the male descend of Isaac Hollingsworth coming directly from our line from Henry Morris the emigrate.
I will be looking at son Wm. Morris born 1727 VA. Do not have information where his line lived.
Son Richard Morris (have Family Finder Match with his line) had a son named Henry M. Morris born 1763 VA died Hancock Co. GA. If related to above Jesse Morris I have no idea as of now.
From some of the information on Ancestry Tree either they have incorrect information posted or there was another Morris Family living in Screvin Co. GA. Male of that group would have to do a Y marker test to see if related to our emigrate Henry Morris of England died Brunswick Co. VA
I have a Family Finder with researcher "B.H." admin. by DKHall917. He descends from Zebulon Hollingsworth b. 1722 MD died 1785 in SCREVEN CO. GA. This is the location I am looking for the parentage of Isaac Hollingsworth b. 1808 GA and d. 1901 in same location he is on Find a Grave with Jesse Morris.
Other say Jesse Morris was the father of said Isaac Hollingsworth his mother Miss Hollingsworth. Since I have a DNA match with "B.H." and location is right I am looking for a female descend (I believe) of Zebulon Hollingsworth.
I have Zebulon linked to Stephen to Henry to Valentine Hollingsworth. This group would not share Mackay. I do not see any other surname in common with "B.H." except this Hollingsworth.
Jesse Morris is linked to me through Y marker DNA test shared by Reed Morris (my known Morris cousin of Henderson Co. TN) and male descend of said Isaac Hollingsworth.
Researchers on Ancestry have the father of Jesse Morris as a Thomas Morris born 1735 died 1757 married to Civility Green. I do not think this is right. Said Thomas would be older generation than Henry Morris' three sons.
Isaac Hollingsworth is linked to me through his mother Miss Hollingsworth and Jesse Morris his father.

Earlier this year, I found a message on the internet from someone who said they had seen a letter from that time, stating that Hollingsworth was actually a Morris. I have tried to contact this person to find out additional info but I have not heard from them.

Well, yes this is what the DNA test have confirm the old family rumors about the true parents of said Isaac Hollingsworth. A male descend of him and our Reed Morris Y markers match. This Hollingsworth man's sample did not match descend of Valentine Hollingsworth.
You can go the Family Tree DNA Project Morris and see the two Y marker DNA samples.
Our Morris only lines up with this other Hollingsworth researcher. I believe both men did the 118 marker test.
Other researchers are seeking paper documentation that these Hollingsworth of GA are descends of Valentine Hollingsworth. Since one of them match my Family Finder, then it follows YES they are members of the Valentine Hollingsworth Family.
The more people do their DNA test and share the results we can start to figure out lost lines.

Through Ancestry Beta Data I do have Lippincott ancestry and I have found one Hulett ressearcher who I e-mail but have not had response.
I think I have found a few of my great-grandmother DNA numbers and the match with a woman down in Barbados. She stated that she was Black.
This is the third DNA test which confirms the mtDNA test submitted by my father's 1st cousin. This would be the blood line of my great-grandmother Lena (Ball) Shipp.
23 & Me list it as Sub-Saharan African. Their Chromosome Browser has this piece of my DNA make up on #8 and it came from only one of my parents. This fact confirms what I thought that it came only through this one line on my father's side.
This test is the third test results which confirms the fact that all the family tales about "Indian Blood" is false.
Ancestry listed this piece of DNA as 1% Mali.
I hope someday to find the actual numbers associated with this "L" so I can have closure as to the path Genet Ray's mother took to Barbados. I believe my 5% Iberian is associated with this one line. For I do not see this racial group associated with my other lines of early NJ,PA,VA or NC.

Ancestry DNA Project researcher "wkenna61" looking for the parentage of John Byrd born 1675 VA and died 1716 NC through son Richard Byrd b. 1711 NC died 1796. Does not give parentage
According to other Ancestry Tree not from the Byrd line linked with Grace Stegge who married John Byrd.
The DNA link must be some where else.

DNA as turn another one of my family history on its head.
My grandfather Roy D. Hopgood's family it appears lived for a time in Bucks Co. PA (assuming they originally came from England), spend time in Berkeley Co. VA, then Bucks Co. PA and went down the Ohio River to Union Co. KY by 1820 census.
You can go to Y Search and my cousin James F. Hopgood's DNA pattern on file and another sample can be found from HOBGOOD. They are not even a close match. My uncle Earl H. Hopgood also has a sample, but he has not shared that information with me.
The founding father of HOBGOOD-- Thomas Hobgood of early Norfolk Co. VA his will on file. One of his grandson removed down to Granville Co. NC. One of these men named Thomas married a Cozart woman (also found in my mother mother family) they removed to Hopkins Co. KY. Always using the surname Hobgood. There is a small town in Granville Co. NC called Hobgood. One of my Hopgood cousin took his picture, thinking he being a cousin.
These are two different families and modern researchers just thought clerks are mixing together a "b" with "p".
I also think that the parentage of my Daniel Hopgood born 1788 VA will be found in Bucks Co. PA. I think the Wm. Hopgood who died in Union Co. KY most likely elder brother of said Daniel. Time will tell.
10 days ago my cousin James F. Hopgood finally answered my call for me to look at this Y marker for Hopgood. I was told by him "well I do not know what you can do with it since I have only two match with men from Sweden".
Well in a short 15 minutes I have turn our Hopgood Family History on its head. I grew up thinking it was English. This is not the case and I think I am dealing with a surname change. The fact that others have turned in Y marker under Hopgood should have told him a lot it certainly tells me great deal. The fact that he has 37 markers in common with men from Finland should have told him a lot. He is not match with any Hopgood Families who came from England to US.
One of the Y marker kits list his oldest known ancestor as John HOPPENGREN b. 1700. It is also true this man's blood line can be proven by on line Parish Records on L.D.S. site. We know the actual farm this Y marker is associated with at that time. Surname were not handed down through father to his children. Men changed their surname when they took new leases on property.
I believe I am now looking for this male emigrate Mr. HOPPENGREN could have left Finland do the "Great Northern War" (1700-1721) This social change is about the right time period. He or his son b. c1722 would have change or been changed for them to Hopgood. My oldest known ancestor is still Wm. Hopgood b. 1750 where?? died 1811 Berkeley Co. VA/WV.
I know ZERO about Finland and really have no intention doing research among their records. The fact they change their surnames would drive me crazy. I just want to nail down the emigrate and declare victory.

About two decades ago I exchanged information with Alexander Bolling of VA, he being a "white Bolling". He told me then "we have no record of members of our family removed down to NC to settle". That was a polite way of saying "the blue Bollings really do not have any documentation for their claims of Pochontas ancestry."
Personally--I would have rather had him be more firm with what he knew was the truth. Now we have the DNA study which shows for those who can read numbers, the majority of people claiming Pochontas is in their family trees are wrong.
The "F" letter which appear in the set of DNA results come from the book by Todd Bolen. I would not trust the information given by said researchers. Most claim Pochontas ancestory.
I am really only interested in Group Three named after Benj. Bolling b. 1734, d. 1832, his numbers match my oldest known Bowling ancestor John (husband to Elizabeth).
Starting with Reeves Bowling/Bolen b. 1 Dec 1818, d. 1864 his son
John W. Bolen his son
Wm. R. bolen his son
Harold Jean Bolen (family historian) his son
Wm. H. Bolen Kit #3746
I still am looking for documentation to support H.J. Bolen's statements about the siblings of Reeves' in NC, but DNA test are matching the other known son of John & Martha (Mangum) Bowling. The share a common "Y" marker.
Willis Bolling b 1791, d. 1881, two kits #2207 Thomas Benton Bowling and #106892 Phil Bowling.
Joseph Bolling b. 1801, this kit #1947 Franklin Bowling & kit #33587 James Wesley Boulden
So the two kits for Willis, Joseph match the one kit # supplied by descendant of Reeves Bowling/Bolen of Henderson Co. TN.
I was the first Bolling researcher to have found the land deeds of John Bowling in NC made his mark with side ways "B" and his wife Elizabeth with "E". These deeds stated that they removed to York Co. SC and the same marks have been found by researchers in York Co. SC. I made copies of the NC records, but never heard back from them to send their copies. Some day I will get around to ordering those deeds. HOWEVER many Kit # under heading of Benj. Bolling 1734-1832 show the same numbering pattern as the five above.
You can go down the listing I believe well over 15 of his descendants send in sample, which is why I guess Group Three called by his name.
I did notice Kit #23413 list oldest ancestor as Thomas Bouldinge of Swan, that is wrong they have their own group 2. In Todd Bolen's book Fh665
There is also a test kit #93570 links Baxter Bolling with said John & Benjamin Bolling/Bowling
Those who thought our Bolen of Henderson Co. TN might have been descendant of Pochontas are wrong and other theory (before DNA) the other old Bolling Line of VA--Thomas who came over on the "Swan". They too have their own group and we do not belong.
This DNA test shows us going forward from NC we will want to find at least: John, Benj. & Baxter together.
I say MD and other say VA.
My father recently did an autosomal DNA test through Ancestry. You can find him as jtbolen_1. He of course has the wrong parents for John Bowling who married Martha Mangum. He refuses to change it until he has a definite name for John's father. We are from the brother of Sion Monroe Bolen, John Wiley Bolen. I hope you can find some correlation between our Bolen Lines. He only has his results on Ancestry.

I have no doubt I am the granddaughter of Walter Eugene Shipp. But now science can help me confirm all his various blood lines that when into making up him and therefore 1/4 of my DNA material.
SCHIPP/SHIPS/SHIPP--as far as I know my Autosomal DNA profile is the only one from my main line of Shipp. However, I have two Autosomal DNA kits which come from another one of the four sons of the emigrate John Frederick Schipp. And one Y maker test also from the same son's line. How these researchers and others who have information in their Family Tree are still in "Fantasy Land" believing the family is English and are descends of Wm. Shipp of early Norfolk, VA. That false statement was made back in the 1950's by Ralph D. Shipp and informally published in his book and all these nice people have taken in the information into their Family Tree. So it must be true.
I have additional DNA material shared with German Families of PA & MD: Schauman, Roth & Frey. I have not figured out how they apply to my direct line. I have documents which clearly shows that Godfrey & his brother Jacob were members of various German Luthern Churches. How people can continue to believe they were English, is beyond me.
BRIDGES--I have four Autosomal Matches with other researchers who claim descend from Wm. Bridges who died Pr.Wm.Co.VA in 1743, but I question some of their documentation. So we might share other DNA from some of their other surnames. My goal for the future is to match with known siblings of my Priscilla Ann Bridges. I am showing DNA matches with researchers studying Row & Cole.
BALL--I have numerous matches with descends of the emigrate Edward Ball of early Middlesex Co. VA. Clearly not related to the family of Wm. Ball, father of Mary Ball who was the mother of George Washington. I have one DNA match with a woman who has MacNeil but her line in TN. I believe my MacNeil line could be another one of those Scottish Prisoners send to the colonies in 1650's.
PILCHER--I have several matches with the suname in NC & TN, but still looking for a match with known sibling of my Athaline Pilcher. Since I have many matches with Jett Researchers who descend from Peter Jett of England & early VA, I know my Pilcher line from Daniel Pilcher was with his second wife Matilda Jett daughter of Francis. He had a wife before Matilda. Believe member of Randall Family of Fauquier Co. VA. Still waiting for Autosomal DNA kit from one of the older children of said Daniel.
EDWARDS--I have a match with a researcher studying Wm. Edwards & Maria Richards, he through their daughter Frances and I through son Bushrod P. Edwards. Still looking for lines from the other children of Gerrard Edwards.
RICHARDS--double line for this surname and my major break came from matches with Baylor researchers. This surname has two blood line back to Emperor Charlemagne.
FLEMING--still looking for additional researchers who descend from Thomas Fleming & Hannah Hulett. I have one match with researcher who has Hulett in her listing of surnames, but I have not heard back. I have this surname back to the emigrate, but waiting for additional DNA material. Lippincott I have matched with 10 other researchers. This family living in early Monmouth Co. NJ has been fully documented.
RAY: As far as the ancestry of Genet Ray, she was the carrier of "L" Mitochondrial DNA which was carried down to my great-grandmother Lena (Ball) Shipp.
Just by luck I found my first cousin once removed Jean M. Forney's DNA test results posted on Ancestry. She is/was granddaughter of said Lena. The thought that my grandfather Walter E. Shipp had African Ancestry, really unthinkable. Though my Autosomal DNA test filed through Ancestry DNA confirms that I have 1% Mali. What percentage was given to Jean M. Forney I have no idea. If my grandfather had been test I would assume greater percentage.
Other researchers have linked her (Genet Ray) with the Scottish Quaker Family of Rhea, who married into my Hampton Family of that location. I have been able to find a few of my great-grandmother Lena (Ball) Shipp's numbers and I have found the same the various Barbados DNA accounts. The present day family of Ray of that location, contains a large span of "Human Color". I have no doubt I have the right group of people.
Hope to add to his various surnames as more people discover the usefulness of DNA testing.
My eldest son and I are hooked on VIKING now ended for the year, looking for future shows/deeds about this group of people next year. My mtDNA line shows my most female ancestress belonged to this group. I will never find her name.
Rollo in the TV show--given as brother to Ragner Lodbrok--is not true. But the real Rollo would become 1st Duke of Normandy born 860 and died 932. His blood line would become the House of Normandy in England. Also Alfred who would become Alfred "The Great" his father and grandfather Egbert had major parts in the show.
My grandmother Daisy Love (McKay) Shipp was a descend of these people "on paper" through Elizabeth Denne (1663-1689) comes down to her from Garwood Family.
But--she has a more interesting branch from Charlemagne through Vernon/De Vernon Family. Thomas B. McKay ancestress Patience Jobe through Vernon family has blood lines from the early Plantagenet, early Kings of Scotland, Kings of Leon, Kings of Castile and Kings of France.
All four of my grandparents: Walter E. Shipp, Daisy L. McKay, Roy D. Hopgood and Olive Odillion King were descends of Charlemagne and the Plantagenet, so they were all cousins.
Above Rollo was the ancestor of said Plantagenet.
All posted on my tree on Ancestry.
