I have the emigrate female ancestor of my Elizabeth Brown. She was Elizabeth Fox born 1647 Ireland died 1755 DE married first to Wm. Cook who died at sea. She was member of the Society of Friends who removed from parts of England and Wales to present day Northern Ireland. The British Government want to hold down the Catholics of the area. Said Quakers did not get all they wanted from the government so they left in mass to parts of PA.
I am posting all future information on my Ancestry Tree Time Line.
It turns out I am a direct descend of Valentine Hollingsworth.
We know Henry Hollingsworth (son of Valentine) arrived 1683 in ship Lion. If others can find a listing of the other passengers, I would welcome that effort. I have been going around and around with on line sites which say they have a complete listing but I am unable to figure out how to get it.
If our Wm. Cooke and wife Elizabeth Fox and their four children came over with this group of Quaker that would made sense. The records of Friends of Lurgan start to late 1675 to have her marriage listed with Wm. Cooke. The records that remain in book form our group had left for DE.
J.L. Fisher's book on line does mention Henry Hollingsworth and George Fox, but does not have detailed marriage records like book Hopewell Friends.
The book called Sinton Family Tree does not give us additional information about our lines. By spring 1689 King James had his troop in the area, but our group had left. July 1690 Battle of Boyne our Grace Cooke had married our Thomas Hollingsworth and living in colony. So none of this historical background applies to us.
I think some of the Quakers Meeting House Records for PA, MD and DE Ancestry might have those on line. These would be L.D.S. films that it would appear have been allowed to put on their site. Like the marriage of Thomas Hollingsworth & Grace Cooke and I have that linked to my tree in Ancestry.
Mentioned in J.L. Fisher's book that the records we most likely need are housed Records Office of Dublin and I do not think given out to the public on line. In the end we might go to the effort to see them and they start to late.
Spend my time trying to find Elizabeth (Fox) Cooke second marriage.

they have the Darby MM Delaware Co. PA on line I have linked the marriage record of Nathaniel Parke to Elizabeth Cooke to her page Elizabeth Fox J1c8.
You can go through the whole book on line, I do not know if they will contain additional information on our line or not.

My initial search for the Lion showed a passenger list on Chester.pa-roots.com
Valetine Hollingsworth and son Henry are listed. There are not any Cooke, Fox, or Parke listed. I'm going to keep looking for passenger on the Lion and other ships for this time frame.

As you might guess there are many different groups of Brown living just in VA. My main line of Brown, started by Thomas Brown came from Nottingham, England to PA then on to VA. It would appear there are three different Y marker from his male descends. His racial group R-M269.
My line--Thomas Brown & Ruth Large their son Wm. Brown and Hannah Moon to his son Wm. Brown & Margaret Martin.
It is Margaret Martin who is my mtDNA line.
Find a Grave has entries on all first tree generation and I have Quaker records for all the groups. Since I compiled in book form Frederick Co. VA Land Deeds and Wills I have all that information on hand. Hopewell Friends has information about this group of Brown as well has Hinshaw.
Then I started on this line I just knew my 2nd great grandmother Amanda E. Melton, none of her lines had been worked. This is before DNA. I was glad to have within my own control her DNA Footprint.
Hope in the future to get all of Elizabeth Brown's lines documented with paper and DNA matches. I have e-mail Fox Project to have my mtDNA sample send on to their site.
Information about Elizabeth Fox on line appears to be "confusion" among some of the researchers. I do not think she is from the same family as George Fox (Mr. Quaker).
Ancestry Family Finder research "Kathleen Boll Hughes" tree Boll Family Tree descend of Hannah Brown who married Peter Stout. Her Hannah Brown daughter of Wm. Brown and Hannah Moon. I descend through son Wm. Brown who married Margaret Martin.
I have found out L.D.S. web site has all land deeds for Orange, Granville and Person counties of NC on line. Also interested in other counties in this state.
As far as this Brown and Morris I do not know if they have placed Henderson Co. TN on line. VA land deeds do not know if all on line. Need Quaker Records in PA and DE.

Bob Derryberry's book is free on line, through L.D.S. library. I did not know he was going to print various theories I and others thought as to the beginnings of the family in US.
Others have taken his theories and spun them into fact.
In the olden days of Genealogy when you exchange paper information with another researcher, if you found out something was wrong, you knew where to send the corrections.
But now with information on line, there is no chance to correct or delete wrong information. People would rather hold on to bad information than to have nothing at all. They do not know how to use their delete key.
All of these opinions, theories, believes, thoughts were BEFORE DNA and only one piece of information I found and passed to Audria Massey was correct. The family was German and came into NC from NJ. Ancestry has a number of the early tax list on line for various counties of NJ.
The Y markers for four Derryberry men show the family came from a German family. The results are public on Family Tree DNA. And their and mine Autosomal samples filed Family Tree DNA. Which I might add I do not match.
However, you will find spread over the Ancestry and Personal Web Page all these wrong theories as fact.
The Derryberry were not French or English, but German. I love it when people state they have done their research and what they say is true. Then I know what they are saying was just mine and Audria old unproven opinions. I have been at this for 30 years!!
Since, DNA I have to deal with the fact my E.H. Derryberry does not share DNA material with four known Derryberry men.
Should I keep silence or tell others?. I have decided the honest thing to do is to go public on the issue. Now, others want to continue to research the Derryberry of Henderson Co. TN and beyond, go right head. But when you find out what I am saying is true and you have wasted your time, remember my caution about his parentage.
The Derryberry of Henderson Co. TN (other than my E.H. Derryberry) Y markers show link to Durrenburg of early PA from Germany. I am finding in Brunswick Co. VA Land Deeds Giles Dewberry living as adult in this area 1757. This was the man tied to Henry Derryberry of early Essex Co. VA. If they had male descends I have no idea.
But researchers should not assume surnames close to Derryberry are all the same family. I have seen Mayberry surname mistaken as "really" being Derryberry.
There was a village in West Riding, Yorkshire, England Dewberry.

L.D.S. #306123 (on line) Granville Co. NC Land Deeds 1 May 1762 Thomas Young's land deed witness by Giles "X" Dewberry. Could be the same Giles Dewberry I have found in Brunswick Co. VA now moving west into Granville Co. NC.

I am so glad I ran across your posts!! I've been working on this Group 3 line for almost 15 years now. Frustrating!!
I didn't stay long with Group 3 and Pocohontas though because it didn't make any sense to me, even though others in our family believed it.
I had figured out that Benjamin's dad was probably William who came from Maryland, but I had no way to prove it. I didn't know about a will in Somerset Co. Is that on-line?
My line is proven back to Benjamin and Charity Larrimore, through their son, Jeremiah and his son, Ezekiel.
I've done no DNA testing yet. Since our Bolling line stopped with my gg-grandmother we have no male Bollings in our direct line yo y-test. My sister does live in Wise Co., Va though and I'll be there this summer. I would love to find a male Bolling from Wise to test!
I have mostly the same names as you for John and John, Jr. Where I'm having trouble is connecting Justice, Jesse and Benjamin. And, by the way, I believe the Benjamin, son of William, is a different man than the one who married Charity Larrimore. No proof on that yet though.
Anyways, I'm so pleased to see your research. Gives validation to mine. Thank you!
I'd like to share your message if that's ok with you? Let me know.
Check out L.D.S. web site, they have placed all the land deeds that I need for NC. There are so many I am finding it hard to find all the time I need to view them. Entries which apply to my Ancestry Tree I am posting them with each person on my tree.
VA land deeds they would appear to be not on line, so you will have to order them on film.
Now that I know which family group I need coming down from Somerset Co. MD (would be only Group 3) into early Granville and Orange Co. NC, I can tell you there were other men by the name of Boland, Boles, Bowles, Bolling ect....living in the same location. We know from Y marker studies they are different families. Now if I can get researchers to start applying this DNA evidence to their trees that would be helpful !!!
I also noticed a different Denton Family living in Brunswick Co. VA who may have traveled into Granville Co. NC. My group of Denton came from NY to Shenandoah Co. VA to TN.

Found L.D.S. #306947 Orange Co. NC deed & minute books only date given 1817 for the above case. I do not think the Isaac Morris is my direct ancestor.
Jury finding Issac Morris guilty in "the bill of instrument" The record does not say what he was charged with "taken to the public whipping post 39 lashes on his bare back and cost of 100 pounds fee & cost".
This film is full of others in Orange Co. NC also whipped & fined for having "unlawful relations" resulting in children born "out of wedlock". I do not know if this is the case with Isaac Morris, or he did something else.
My Isaac Morris it is said was in TN in by this time, however the dates are not applied to each case file, just what was done each year.
There was a Isaac Morris who married in Orange Co. NC on 8th Jan 1812 to Nancy CHEEK. And I do not know if or how he is related to my group of Morris/Brown of Orange Co. NC.
Members of our McKay family married into the Cheek family, perhaps others know who this Isaac Morris was who was whipped.
With so much new information I am finding with Shipp & Snyder I have not found the time to post information in connection with my Morris & Brown families which I have found months ago.
I have not run Isaac Morris & Elizabeth Brown through Ancestory.com to see whats others have posted.
I believe the Isaac Morris who stayed in Orange Co. NC was the son of Richard Morris. L.D.S. 305934 image 226 Isaac Morris dated 15 Jan 1824 was witness to land deed filed by John Taylor gifted slaves.
These land deeds a great resource for people interested in African-American research.
I picked up another distant Morris cousin from different male line of Henry Morris Sr. of Brunswick Co. VA. Hope others in future will do their D.N.A test. His three sons: Wm., Henry (mine) and Richard have descends who have send in their Family Finder Test Kits. My line has one of the Y marker DNA results. I am still not sure which one Isaac Hollingsworth belongs either Wm. or Richard line.
