Ancestry as 10 Autosomal DNA samples on file with all confirming their line back to and we descend from different children of said couple Peter & Elizabeth (Fielding) Rucker. I do not believe I have other lines in common with them.
1. Peter Rucker (c1669 Bavaria, Germany-1743 Orange Co. VA) married Elizabeth Fielding.
2. Ann Rucker born c1712 Orange Co. VA m. Shem Cooke
3. Isham Cooke married Ann.........?
4. Nancy Cooke born 1780 NC, d. c1859 Carroll Co. TN married Lemuel Rust. Same Rust family that intermarried with "our" McKay. I have Autosomal matche with a researcher from the VA branch of the family.
5. Dawsey Rust born 1805 Orange Co. NC d. c1850 Carroll Co. TN marired Noah Hampton. His family as several Autosomal Matches on file with Ancestry DNA and Family Tree DNA.
6. Winnie Ridley Hampton b. Apr 1830, d. 19 Jan 1901 Yuma, Carroll Co. TN married first Wm. Presley King. Believe her grave marker can be found on "Fine a Grave".
7. Hansford Duncan King b. 23 Mar 1857, d. 5 May 1927 Yuma, Carroll Co. TN married Fredonia Jane Derryberry. I have Autosomal match with another descend of his grandfather Thomas King. I have several Autosomal matches for Fredonia J. Derryberry's Shipman cousin, but none with Derryberry.
8. Joseph Hulon King b. 21 Jul 1883 Yuma, Carroll Co. TN, d. 23 Jan 1963 Alton, Madison Co. Il married Dessie Green Bolen. I have found many Autosomal Matches for her Bolen, Mangum, Carrington, Cozart (double line), Melton, Fortune, Duke & Reeves. Morris a Y marker and my DNA marker for her Brown ancestry.
Joseph --my great-grandfather down three more generations. I am 11 generation from said Peter Rucker.
Family Finder Project Ancestry DNA researcher "jtownsend100" (tree Joseph B. Townsend III) descend from couple Peter & Elizabeth (Thompson) Presley/Presly through their daughter Elizabeth who married John Cockrell.
He also has unlinked surname of Thornton, he descend from Wm. Thornton born 1572 Yorkshire, England died 1650 same location wife was Barbara Westby through son Wm. born 1620 England died 1671 VA wife Elizabeth Rowlan. People who have posted Wm. Sr. parentage on Ancestry DNA 75 years age difference. I believe they have posted the wrong information.
My line of Thornton--Christopher Thornton born 1540 same location, d. 1590 same location wife Mary Lake through their daughter Margaret Thornton b. 1585 died 1681 wife of John Gregory, they lived in the same location in VA
His line could be linked to mine he will have to do more work.
He and I also share Charlemagne blood line, but I do not think those account for our DNA match. He has Mowbray and Blount surnames linked to some of my families on both sides of my tree.

I have no doubt I am the granddaughter of Walter Eugene Shipp. But now science can help me confirm all his various blood lines that when into making up him and therefore 1/4 of my DNA material.
SCHIPP/SHIPS/SHIPP--as far as I know my Autosomal DNA profile is the only one from my main line of Shipp. However, I have two Autosomal DNA kits which come from another one of the four sons of the emigrate John Frederick Schipp. And one Y maker test also from the same son's line. How these researchers and others who have information in their Family Tree are still in "Fantasy Land" believing the family is English and are descends of Wm. Shipp of early Norfolk, VA. That false statement was made back in the 1950's by Ralph D. Shipp and informally published in his book and all these nice people have taken in the information into their Family Tree. So it must be true.
I have additional DNA material shared with German Families of PA & MD: Schauman, Roth & Frey. I have not figured out how they apply to my direct line. I have documents which clearly shows that Godfrey & his brother Jacob were members of various German Luthern Churches. How people can continue to believe they were English, is beyond me.
BRIDGES--I have four Autosomal Matches with other researchers who claim descend from Wm. Bridges who died Pr.Wm.Co.VA in 1743, but I question some of their documentation. So we might share other DNA from some of their other surnames. My goal for the future is to match with known siblings of my Priscilla Ann Bridges. I am showing DNA matches with researchers studying Row & Cole.
BALL--I have numerous matches with descends of the emigrate Edward Ball of early Middlesex Co. VA. Clearly not related to the family of Wm. Ball, father of Mary Ball who was the mother of George Washington. I have one DNA match with a woman who has MacNeil but her line in TN. I believe my MacNeil line could be another one of those Scottish Prisoners send to the colonies in 1650's.
PILCHER--I have several matches with the suname in NC & TN, but still looking for a match with known sibling of my Athaline Pilcher. Since I have many matches with Jett Researchers who descend from Peter Jett of England & early VA, I know my Pilcher line from Daniel Pilcher was with his second wife Matilda Jett daughter of Francis. He had a wife before Matilda. Believe member of Randall Family of Fauquier Co. VA. Still waiting for Autosomal DNA kit from one of the older children of said Daniel.
EDWARDS--I have a match with a researcher studying Wm. Edwards & Maria Richards, he through their daughter Frances and I through son Bushrod P. Edwards. Still looking for lines from the other children of Gerrard Edwards.
RICHARDS--double line for this surname and my major break came from matches with Baylor researchers. This surname has two blood line back to Emperor Charlemagne.
FLEMING--still looking for additional researchers who descend from Thomas Fleming & Hannah Hulett. I have one match with researcher who has Hulett in her listing of surnames, but I have not heard back. I have this surname back to the emigrate, but waiting for additional DNA material. Lippincott I have matched with 10 other researchers. This family living in early Monmouth Co. NJ has been fully documented.
RAY: As far as the ancestry of Genet Ray, she was the carrier of "L" Mitochondrial DNA which was carried down to my great-grandmother Lena (Ball) Shipp.
Just by luck I found my first cousin once removed Jean M. Forney's DNA test results posted on Ancestry. She is/was granddaughter of said Lena. The thought that my grandfather Walter E. Shipp had African Ancestry, really unthinkable. Though my Autosomal DNA test filed through Ancestry DNA confirms that I have 1% Mali. What percentage was given to Jean M. Forney I have no idea. If my grandfather had been test I would assume greater percentage.
Other researchers have linked her (Genet Ray) with the Scottish Quaker Family of Rhea, who married into my Hampton Family of that location. I have been able to find a few of my great-grandmother Lena (Ball) Shipp's numbers and I have found the same the various Barbados DNA accounts. The present day family of Ray of that location, contains a large span of "Human Color". I have no doubt I have the right group of people.
Hope to add to his various surnames as more people discover the usefulness of DNA testing.
Ancestry DNA Project researcher Elaine McAuliffe descend of Penelope Quisenberry
I have Quisenberry surname linked to my Bridges line.
1. John Quisenberry born 1627 England died 1717 Westmoreland Co. VA m. Anne Pope
2. Wm. Quisenberry died 1762 Westmoreland Co. VA m. Elizabeth. She descend from his brother
3. Eleanor B. Quisenberry b. 1690 Westmoreland Co. VA died 1771 Westmoreland Co. VA
4. Amy Baynes born 1735 d. 1806 m. Wm. Bridges II
5. Wm. Bridges m. Ann Row
6. Edmund Bridges b. 1798 d. 1875 married second to Elizabeth Ann Cole (widow)
7. Priscilla Ann Bridges m. Wm. H. Shipp.
This researcher also descend of the Bowling family of Charles Co. MD. Since my group of Y markers do not match the ones living in that part of MD must be another group.

From the beginning (before DNA) the problem was the marriage bond date between Ephraim Carrington & Priscilla Duke was long after their children's birth years. She died 1843 Orange Co. NC and in her will named Ephraim children as being her children.
Cousin James Cossart/Cozart & Sarah Brinkley through legal documentation we know they had "set up housekeeping" long before they were legally married.
Was this the same case with Ephraim & Priscilla? The question being do I (and others) have Duke ancestry?
Found on Ancestry DNA Project I have many DNA matches with researchers who have Duke, Grendon, Taylor & Lucy ancestry.
So I am now building a case as to Priscilla (Duke) Carrington blood line.
1. Edward Duke born 1538 Benhall Lodge, Suffolk, England wife was Dorothy Jermyn. They had 16 children, one being their daughter Elizabeth Duke who married Nathaniel Bacon. I need to check Bacon researchers from this couple.
2. William Duke married as the third husband to Hannah Grendon. Who was the daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Grendon Her mother married Thomas Stegge, their daughter Grace Stegge married John Byrd. I have Autosomal DNA match with one of their descend.
3. Henry Duke died 1718 Prince George Co. VA m. Elizabeth Taylor. She has an interesting blood line which I have separate DNA matches.
4. Wm. Duke married Elizabeth........? need to find her maiden name to seek additional DNA matches. I have two other DNA matches with their son Joseph.
5. John Duke married Lydia........? need to find her maiden name to seek additional DNA matches. They had children: Wm. (married Mary Carrington sister of Ephraim), Hardyman, Taylor, Samuel & Robert Duke. I know on paper they had issue but seeking DNA matches.
6. Priscilla Duke b. c1760 died 1843 m. Ephraim Carrington. I have many different Carrington DNA matches. I will be seeking additional DNA matches with their children. I have so far two other cousins both from son Sion. Their children: Morgan, Sion, John & Dicey.
You can check the Duke Family Project on Family Tree DNA to try to figure out which group we belong. At the moment I am just collecting Autosomal DNA Match, for that is under my control. It would be nice to have a male Y marker for this line of Duke, but I will not count on that.
Ancestry DNA Project researcher Shannie77 dean (tree Dean Family Tree) descend of Henry Duke & Elizabeth Taylor through son John Taylor Duke (1705-1790) married to Jane Stewart. I descend through his brother Wm.

Found Ancestry DNA sample of "jsbristol" he descends from John Rust (1719-1811) son of John Rust & Agnes Clements. I descend from their son Samuel Rust.
So we have another link between the family in VA and NC/TN.
He has another surname in common with me Bowling, but I think a different group.
Found Ancestry "Family Finder" researcher "lkmb9999" (tree New Name Brock) descend of John Rust & Agnes Clements through son John Rust who married Elizabeth Hutchinson. I descend from one of their other sons Samuel.
This researcher has the Rust back in England for another four generations. I have no idea if correct.
The wife of Wm. Rust--Ann Metcalf born in England. He gives her parents as Wm. Metcalf and Anne Swanne. Her maiden name could be reason I have found matches with surname Swann & Swanne. Some in VA most in MD.

Found on Ancestry DNA researcher "FCW" descend of Sally Taylor born 1797 SC m. John Grizzle, d. 1859 Lumpkin, GA. She does not give her line back to Dr. Rowland Taylor.
1. Rowland Taylor
2. Thomas Taylor m. Elizabeth Burwell
3. Thomas Taylor m. Margaret Swinderly
She descend from their son Wm. and I descend from their son John. This bit of DNA goes into my Duke family into my Carrington family.
She also has a Jenkins family, but I do not think the same family as mine. Looking for Samuel Jenkins born 1740 Shenandoah Co. VA died 1796 married to Jane Williams.
Researcher "JH" Ancestry DNA Project descend of Thomas Taylor & wife Margaret Swinderly through son James Taylor who married Martha Thompson. This piece of DNA material becomes further proof of the blood lines of Priscilla Duke who married Ephraim Carrington.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "harig52" descend of John Rudd born 1706 Henrico Co. VA died 1754 Chesterfield Co. VA married to Hannah Russell. Through daughter Jane born 1737. Researcher does not give parentage.
We know her John son of John Rudd Sr. & wife Avis Whitaker, so I know this could be my only shared DNA material.
She also descend of Wm. Cannon born 1673 Henrico Co. VA died 1747 Albemarle Co. VA married to Judith Woodson. Others have given his parentage back a few more generations and linked to the family of Col. Robert Bolling of early VA.
I am looking for the parentage of Elizabeth Cannon b. 1685 died 1737 Christ Church, Middlesex Co. VA married to Wm. Hammitt. Their daughter married into my MacNeil who married into my Ball family.
I do not see the link between my Cannon family and her group of Cannon.
Ancestry DNA Project researcher "jimwbrady" (tree Brady Family Tree) descend of emigrate John Rudd & Avis Whitaker through their other son James to his son Hezekiah Rudd who married Lucy Hawkins his son Jeremiah Rudd who married Susanna Evans their son Thomas Lee Rudd married Elvira Jane Montgomery their son Thomas Henry Rudd who married Louisa E. Allred.
He is also related to my Wm. Hunt of early VA.

Found on Ancestry DNA Project researchers "NRCSdd36" & "T.HA" descend from son Richard and son Charles researchers: "Amberflohr", "KR", "matthewhill83", "Leaveintime" & "H.A." My line going into Todd Family married into Baylor which this piece of DNA made up blood lines of John Richards (which I have a double line).
Now there are 8 researcher who descend from John Gorsuch & Anne Lovelace. Researcher "pauldavison174" descend from their son Charles. His tree called Paul Davison Tree.
This eighth piece of DNA travels down from this couple in through this researcher and mine to my grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp. He had a double line of this Richards Family.
