John Hampton born in Scotland died 1702 in Monmouth Co. NJ. Was a Quaker and had nine children: Janet, Elizabeth, Lydia, John, David, Andrew, Jonathan, NOAH (my line) & Joseph.

I have isolated 11 kit results as belonging to four of the above children: Noah (4, and one all the way down to Winnie), Andrew (3), John (2) & Lydia (2).

There might be more some of the researchers keep their files private. And I believe Family Tree DNA has more samples, that I have not figured out as of now.

There are Y markers listed in public through Family Tree DNA, showing the differences between the above group and the English Hampton. Now if researchers would only use this new tool.
Found on Ancestry DNA Project researcher "WS" descend of Margaret Hampton daughter of Andrew Hampton b. 1698 d. 1748 in NJ married to Mary Cary.

Another researcher on Ancestry "RDDrake40" descend from the sister of said Margaret.

His researcher also has STOUT ancestry, we could still share a double distant line.

I was the first to say other had combined two different Andrew Hampton into one man.

My Andrew was the older of the two, son of Noah Hampton who died in now WVA. His son Andrew named in his will removed to NC died in Jefferson Co. GA.

I have been collecting various DNA profile to support my line of Hampton.

Have you done a DNA test?

The Andrew who died in Rutherford Co. NC, has not been proven.
The emigrate John Hampton took as a wife Martha Brown, who was the daughter of Abraham Brown. Their Quaker Marriage Record can be found on film. They had tree sons: Andrew who died 1725 Cecil Co. MD, Jonathan who died 1744 NJ & Noah who died 1774 Hampshire Co. VA/WV (mine line).

Abraham was the son of Nicholas Brown one of the early settlers of Middletown, Monmouth Co. NJ. He also had a son named Thomas and his descends removed down to Orange Co. NC. I have three Autosomal DNA Matches with: "drdenemc", "Ardiamond5988" & "DHG".

If you claim descend through John Hampton & his wife Martha BROWN then you should be matching them as well.

Now if Andrew Hampton who died in 1725 Cecil Co. MD was the father of Andrew Hampton who died in Rutherford Co. NC these matches should be found.

Found on Ancestry "JDellArling" looking for the parentage of Mary Hampton born 1710 Gloucester Co. NEW JERSEY died 1756 same location married Ebenezer Zane.

You can find on line information about this couple who remained Quakers.

I believe she could be been the daughter of Andrew Hampton Sr. brother to my John Hampton Sr. both emigrates.

Said Andrew did have a daughter named Mary born the right time period. I have her married to another man, but she could have had more than one husband.

The point is this branch of the family remained in NEW JERSEY and this couple left records in this location of US.

Some researcher, for reasons I do not understand, have linked her to the English Hampton of Gloucester Co. VIRGINIA. Makes no sense at all.
Found on Family Tree DNA Project Carol E.S. Basile and I share a very small piece of DNA #4 8.58.

I had want her Hand ancestry, but since we share just this one piece and afraid the link is with Hampton Family of Scotland & early NJ.

She is looking for the parentage of Wm. Hampton 1741-1820 born & died in NJ married to Barbara Forrest.

I believe her line is as follows:

1. Andrew Hampton the emigrate married in Scotland to Margaret Cuminen. I descend from his brother John Hampton and I have had many matches with his descends.

2. John Hampton born c1685 I do not have name of his wife another researcher on line has a John Hampton as father of her line.

3. Wm. Hampton b. 1741 died 1820 married Barbara Forrest.

This researcher might find matches with members of Cuminen Family (various spelling) I believe some of her family removed to NJ as well.

Beware people on line have mixed together the small group in NJ with the ones living in VA. Some people like to play the game "Pick a Hampton".

Researchers can go to Carrington Website kit #246929 submitted by a distant Carrington cousin. I descend from Ephramin & he from Nathaniel Carrington, sons of John Carrington of Orange Co. NC.

I believe pictures of Nathaniel Carrington can be found on the net.

Hope other Carrington of TN will do the test.

Family Finder Testing which test our autosomal DNA, my sample is to be posted 13 Mar 2013.
I am desparately searching for proof of Charity Carrington Wells parents.

In that part of Virginia I do not know how many records were left after Civil War.

Researcher "amysandvold" looking for the parentage of James C. Taylor born 1778 VA died 1866 KY married Nancy Olive Moore.

Other on Ancestry Trees have a James Francis Taylor married in Orange Co. VA to Frances Moore. But I think these are two different couples. James Francis is from the blood line of Dr. Rowland Taylor.
Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "RG" (Gaffney/Goldtrap Family) descend of Joseph Taylor born 1751 Orange Co. VA died 1818 Warren Co. KY husband to Sarah Elizabeth Best.

I believe after researcher seeks out additional paper documentation will show descend of Dr. Rowland Taylor.

I do not see other families that we share DNA.

Ancestry DNA file has sample submitted by P.A.T.L.

His line from Abraham Denton & wife Mary Odell through son Joseph Denton (1729-1800) married Ann Hogg their son Isaac Denton (1768-1858) married Rebecca Etheridge.

I descend from Abraham's other son Samuel. This touch is going back 10 generations from me.

His line link with Hogg, this family linked to McKay family. But he does not have McKay in his listing of names. He might share Etheridge ancestry with me way back on my father's father's side.

I have other Denton matches which I have not posted. If you are a descend of Rev. Richard Denton you should be finding these same matches. I do not have special DNA.
Found Ancestry DNA Project "JB" (Wren Family Tree) also descend of Joseph son of Abraham & Mary (Odell) Denton.

I descend through their son Samuel.

Two of Abraham's son married into the Hogg family. I am still looking for the maiden name of my Samuel's wife. It would fit if she was also a member of this family, to explain all the matches I now have with this surname.

He also have Cloud ancestry which I various matches, but have not figured out the link.

He also has Frey of Germany and early PA, this family is in some way linked to my early Schipp/Ship of Germany & PA.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "RR" (Williams Reding Tree) descend of Joseph H. Denton through Abraham line. This researcher also has Hogg ancestry, which I am interested in connection with McKay, my Denton & Morris families. There must be a reason why I am finding matches with this surname.

He also a distant Rudd cousin, but not a member of my group of Ball of Middlesex Co. Va.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "harig52" descend of John Rudd born 1706 Henrico Co. VA died 1754 Chesterfield Co. VA married to Hannah Russell. Through daughter Jane born 1737. Researcher does not give parentage.

We know her John son of John Rudd Sr. & wife Avis Whitaker, so I know this could be my only shared DNA material.

She also descend of Wm. Cannon born 1673 Henrico Co. VA died 1747 Albemarle Co. VA married to Judith Woodson. Others have given his parentage back a few more generations and linked to the family of Col. Robert Bolling of early VA.

I am looking for the parentage of Elizabeth Cannon b. 1685 died 1737 Christ Church, Middlesex Co. VA married to Wm. Hammitt. Their daughter married into my MacNeil who married into my Ball family.

I do not see the link between my Cannon family and her group of Cannon.
Found Ancestry DNA researcher "RR" (Williams Reding Tree) descend of Bryant Rudd born 1785 VA and 1847 KY husband to Susan Cole through their son Jesse R. Rudd (1835 KY-1911 OK)

Other have his line back to John Rudd the emigrate, he descend from son John and through son Joseph Rudd.

This researcher is a closer distant cousin through Abraham Denton.

His Ball family another group of that surname.
