There are four reseachers who I share DNA with who also have Derryberry as one of their surnames.

1. "dskrams950" also a descend of E.H. Derryberry. We share other TN families. Incorrect information as to linking E.H. Derryberry to John & Ann (Buck) Derryberry of early Essex Co. VA.

2. "bjlaw1" from the line of Jacob Derryberry to Abraham Derryberry who married Mary Starkley (I don't know if really proven). He takes his line back also to John & Ann (Buck) Derryberry of early Essex Co. VA. But we share Carrington & Cozart DNA.

3. "armayfield" same line as #2 We share Mangum ancestry.

So #2 & #3 I think we shared DNA from other families and not Derryberry.

4. "camillehartley45" she is from the line Jacob line as #2 & #3. But she has the most interesting surname EPLEY. The location in early York Co. PA. I am showing Autosomal match with one of her distant cousin on Risedel & Epley families.
And other researchers who share this Epley surname and I do not see other surnames I might have in common.

Something I will want to check in the future.

What would be nice if these Derryberry cousin found on Ancestry would tranfer their sample to Family Tree DNA and see if they match with the four known Derrberry men.
Ancestry DNA project researcher "Kjadler24" descend from Jacob Derryberry to Michael Derryberry, she has inccorect information bring back her line to early VA. Our shared DNA material not linked to surname Derryberry.

She is looking for Hannah Gorsuch born 1718 MD died 1800. Might have a link to my Todd & Gorsuch linked with the ancestry of my Robert Baylor. She has a number generation back in time to link with mine.

She also descend of Ann Maria Haas and I have that surname in my tree as well.

Her Snyder might be linked with my group as well.

I have no idea who some of the people are who placed information into their system about Wm. Harvey Shipp & his wife Priscilla A. Bridges.

Wm. Harvey Shipp did not died in Pittsburgh, PA, his father's name was just John Shipp, no middle name William. This couple had 12 children (which can be confirmed from birth, death registries and census) 9 alive for 1910 census.

1. John L. Shipp
2. Milton E. Shipp
3. Socrates B. Shipp
4. Franklin Shipp
5. Samuel C. Shipp
6. Cora A. Shipp died c1879
7. Mathias H. Shipp, my great-grandfather
8. Carry Shipp died c1909
9. Homer B. Shipp
10. Dewitt Shipp died c1900
11. Jacob Harvey Shipp
12. Nannie L. Shipp

Said Cora, Carry & Dewitt died before their parents.

There never existed Murray Shipp b. c1882 m. 1907 Mildred Shipp.
Found Ancestry DNA project "jg12411" descend from Wm. Harvey Shipp through son Homer B. Shipp. I descend from another son Mathias H. Shipp.

His line through Homer's son John Henry Shipp.

Information this researcher has back beyond Homer B. Shipp is not correct or missing. But I am very very glad he took the time and money to send in his DNA sample.

I have a picture of his Homer with first wife Caroline V. Kane and her ancestry. He was married twice again.

The grave marker for Wm. H. Shipp can be found on "Fine a Grave". I have visited this location years ago, very easy to find. He did not live in PA and did not died in that location. Buried Midland Cemetery, Fauquier Co. VA with some of his other family members. He was married only to one woman--Priscilla Ann Bridges (have a picture of her).

His father's name was John Shipp not John Wm. Shipp. Jury out on his wife's maiden name.

The family back beyond Wm. H. Shipp were Lutheran, but I do not know when the family became Baptist or Methodist.

I have found some interesting items at estate sales for Wm. H.'s father John Shipp in Shenandoah Co. VA. He liked drinking whiskey, wine etc....Does not "sound" like Baptists I have known in the past.

His father Godfrey and his brother were Lutheran, but I do not know about all their children. My husband and I visited St. Elias Lutheran Church of Emmitsburg, Frederick Co. MD (they have a web site), but the grave markers were for the most part unreadable. Lots of German surnames found in the grave yard. When I find the time will check to see if I can find Autosomal DNA matches with some of them.

The present church would not be the one Godfrey and his family members worshiped. It started out as a little log building. I think this location COULD be the final resting place of his father Anthony.

I believe his mother could have still been alive when the family removed from Frederick Co. MARYLAND to present day WV.

We plan to visit the Lutheran Church in Shenandoah Co. VA that Godfrey's brother's children names recorded. If a cemetery is located upon the same land, I have no idea.

I have Autosomal DNA Match on Family Tree DNA with a woman who descends from John Frederick Schipp/Shipp eldest son Godfrey. And Y marker DNA test results from another researcher who descend from his line of Schipp/Ship/Ships/Shipp filed with Family Tree DNA. Both of these researchers are laboring under the false idea that the family belonged to English Shipp Family of Early Norfolk, VA.

By all means, I hope people continue wasting their time and I hope lots of money collecting and posting false information about this Shipp Family and others pick it up and pass it around to others.

I know the information is false. I just want their DNA sample, they can hold on to their false posting.

Found Ancestry DNA Site DNA sample given by "Kerrigansparks" line of Mary Taylor born 18 Nov 1800 SC married Jacob Weaver (1799-1864) died 27 Sep 1877 Darke Co. OH.

My interested in her line, my William Taylor born c1727 SC died Logan Co. KY divided his lands in that location into four parts to his sons.

It would appear her grandfather could have been a brother to my Wm. So I want to find out more about her line.
Found Ancestry DNA project site researcher "Cooper_65" seeking the couple John S. Taylor born 1756, d. 16 Aug 1853 Monroe, GA married 2 Jun 1803 SC to Edith Broadway.

My Wm. Taylor b. c1727 who lived in SC removed to Logan Co. KY had four sons: Chapman, Asa, Edmund & Wm.

I have no evidence one way or the other if Wm. had brothers.

I do not see other surnames which might explain our shared DNA.

Her grave yard stone recorded in Nancy C. Baird's cemetery book. It is not on "Fine a Grave"

"Mother/Caroline V. Kane/wife of Homer B. Shipp/Died 15 Feb 1925/Aged 47 years"

Her father's stone can be found "Fine a Grave"

"Wm. A. Kane/Mar.15.1844/Sep 30.1910" buried next to his second wife Mary C. Kane 1854-1914. She not the mother of said Caroline. Her mother Matilda Heflin.

He serviced during the Civil War with Fauquier Co. VA military group. Might be on line somewhere. I do not know if I have given that list to Michael or not.

Found in Ancestry.com computer bank about 50 people have just traded information about Godfrey Shipp Sr. by "click" information into their family trees.

I have no idea if any of them are descendants of Godfrey Shipp or just hunting for names to put into their data base.

In any case, Godfrey Shipp Sr. was NOT born in VA, most likely in PA or MD, married in Emmitsburg, Frederick Co. VA to a Elizabeth.........?(most likely German), married before 1801, first son John born in MD, removed to Plum Run in Hampshire Co. VA/WV @1805, down to Shenandoah Co. VA by 1818. They were members of the local Lutheran Church. I have already found his brother Jacob Shipp's children in Lutheran Church Records.

Godfrey Sr. had the following children:

1. John, no MIDDLE NAME
2. Jacob
3. Godfrey Jr., he was the one who had a daughter named Catherine
4. Henry
5. Frederick
6. Mary
7. Lettice
8. Wm.
9. Jonathan

the above people are joined together by census, marriage records, birth & death registries.

According to a letter from my grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp's uncle there was another daughter who married Mr. Henry and they had a son James Henry I have not been able to confirm.

One of the researchers responsed to my comments about her data, "Why would your grandfather make up information." She did not want to answer the question if she personally researched the material!.

I answered her question with another question "Why do researchers take other computer files into their data base, without questioning the information?"

Why do researchers deny this family was a German Family and not English ? I have no idea. There was in the US anti-German feelings starting with WWI to WWII. My grandfather wanted his surname to be a English Family with "Coat of Arms" and influence and money in State of VA.

Godfrey's daughter Lettice who married in Shenandoah Co. VA 1828 to Philip Ludwig.

I believe this is the same couple who removed by 1830 census Milford TWP, Knox Co. OH. Family group listed same location for 1850 census.

I can't seem to find the family group (at first look) on "Fine a Grave".

Perhaps other researcher, shall turn up. I have Autosomal Matches with researchers who have listed Ludwig on their listing of surnames. But I do not know if related to this couple or not.

Other branches of my Shipp removed to parts of OH.

We visited Zion-Pine Lutheran Church along Stoney Creek in Shenandoah Co. VA. Nice to see the remains of Mill along the creek.

I did find on "Fine a Grave" the listing of Rebecca (Shipp) Tisinger and did find her grave. Her husband Isaac Tisinger served with 7th Cav. I do not know where he might be buried. Researcher who descend from this couple will find pictures of the couple on Ancestry Trees.

She was the granddaughter of my Godfrey Sr.

I BELIEVE my Godfrey Shipp Sr. most likely buried in this location, but no grave marker exist.

Looking for the finally resting places of his nine children:

1. John Shipp could be in Shenandoah or Rockingham Co. VA, it has not been indexed. This is my line.

2. Jacob Shipp most likely in Licking Co. OH

3. Godfrey Shipp Jr. buried in Shenandoah Co. VA have visited his grave. Believe on "Fine a Grave"

4. Henry Shipp buried in Shenandoah Co. VA

5. Frederick Shipp buried in Shenandoah Co. VA

6. Mary Shipp married Eli Tasker removed from VA will look in OH for her.

7. Lettice Shipp married Philip Ludwig. Most likley buried in Knox Co. OH. "Fine a Grave" does not have a listing for her.

8. Wm. Shipp buried in Rockingham Co. VA. This was the line of Marie Arrington. She published a small book on her line of Shipp. At the time of her death she had not linked her Wm. to my John.

9. Jonathan Shipp buried in Licking Co. OH.

I hope in future descends of these couple will surface.

Ancestry DNA researcher "sgriff49301" descend from couple John Cowgill (1665 York England-1731 DE) husband to Bridget Croasdale through their son Henry Cowgill (1704-1769) both location PA.

I descend through said couple's daughter Elizabeth Cowgill who married Wm. Brown.
Found Ancestry DNA researcher "Cteb56" descend of Tom Cowgill born 1854 North Riding, Yorkshire, England married to Mary A. Cowgill (?)

My line of Cowgill left this location in England many years before this time.

I do not see other surnames we share in common, but some of this researcher not given.

Found Ancestry samples given by "Ardiamond5988" & "DHG" their line comes from Abraham's brother Thomas Brown who was also a son of Nicholas Brown of early NJ.

They are linked to Wm. Brown born 16 Nov 1726 Bucks Co. PA died 2 Feb 1800 Orange Co. NC married Hannah Moon.

Their son Thomas Hood Brown born 1749 Cane Creek, Orange Co. NC married 20 Aug 1772 Jane Jean Adams, d. 1842 Orange Co. NC.

I like the location, but the DNA material I share with these two researchers comes from my Brown into Hampton line which comes down to me from my mother's side. I have no idea if they hook into my family of Elizabeth Brown born 1780 in Orange Co. NC.

With the issue of James Brown husband to Honour Clayton, I think his brother Wm. Brown is a better bet as far as connecting to my Elizabeth Brown.

Based on various DNA matches and documentation I have on the parentage of my Elizabeth Brown born 1780 Orange Co. NC died 1872 Henderson Co. TN. One researcher stated she lived to be 92 years of age.

Her line from the English Quakers who were once members of Nottingham Meeting House, PA removed down to the meeting houses in Loudoun & Fairfax Co. VA then to Orange Co. NC.

As far as I can tell her group of English Quakers not the same as the ones started by Nicholas Brown my line into Hampton family. They were members of Shrewsbury Meeting House of NJ. Some of these Quakers removed down to Cane River Meeting House and left records with our Branson cousins. This group of Brown also goes into my mother side.

She (Elizabeth Brown) is not the same as the family of John Brown born in Wickham, England married Hannah Ridgeway. This Brown line goes into my Ridgeway into McKay. On father's side.

I will be collecting over the next months additional information about the following blood line.

1. Wm. Brown b. 29 Mar 1658 Puddington, England d. 23 Aug 1746 Chester Co. PA m-2 1684 Nottingham Meeting, PA to Anne Mercer. I have additional Mercer DNA matches. He being the brother of James Brown who married Honour Brown. This is couple that some of our Mackay/McKay insist parentage of our Ann Brown wife of Robert Mackay. I have two DNA matches from researcher who decend from James Brown.

2. Wm. Brown born 1694 Cecil Co.PA d. 1715 same, married first to Elizabeth Cowgill. I have additional Cowgill & Croasdale DNA samples

3. Wm. Brown born 1722 believe removed to NC where he died. Looking for the name of his wife. His uncle Richard Brown also had a son name Wm. born about the same time married to Elizabeth Farquar.

4. John Brown born c1755 VA m. Margaret..........? both made their marks on documents in Orange Co. NC. He most likely died before 1830 Orange Co. NC census. These lands stated he came down from Loudoun Co. VA into NC.

5. Elizabeth Brown born 1780 Orange Co. NC m. c1805 same location to Isaac Morris, d. 1872 Henderson Co. TN. I think she had a brother named George Washington Brown. A number of entries for various George Washington Brown on the net. This man and his wife and children remained in Orange Co. NC. Need the names of her other siblings.

The above Brown have intermarried with a number of families that also intermarried with my Branson, McKay, Jobe etc....
They could account for my matches with Cloud, Beeson & Pugh.
Also you can throw into the pot Steer & Hollingsworth.

I e-mail a few researcher who share my female line of DNA. I do have a full match with researcher's line end in Wales. It will be interesting to learn if my female line runs through some Quaker Family who came from Wales to PA.
Found Ancestry DNA match researcher "lynntentou" descends from Wm. Brown (1658 England-1746 MD/PA) his son Mercer Brown 1685-1733 his son Mercer Brown 1717-1795.

I descend from brother of Mercer Sr. This Brown Family line goes through my mother's side of my tree.

These are the Brown family some Mackay Researchers have the wife of Robert Mackay Sr.--Anne Brown linked. Just plain wrong. This Brown Line goes down through my father's side of my tree.

I am still waiting for a DNA match with some researchers who have traced their lines back to early NJ or MA with Brown. Most likely of Scottish ancestry.

For those researcher who claim Hampton ancestry through John Hampton and his wife Martha Brown, daughter of Abraham. I have four matches with Brown researchers who descend from Abraham's brother. If you descend from said John Hampton & Martha Brown you should also have these matches.

Found on Ancestry DNA web site. I have had for some time the believed line of my Martha Mangum wife of John Bowling.

One DNA sample might start to prove the blood line: John (married to Frances Bennett) to Wm. (married to Mary Person) to Joseph Mangum (wife still unknown looking at Yancey).

I believed Joseph was the father of my Martha, but was not sure enough to posted the information on line. I like to be sure.

I would like to find additional samples from Joseph's known sons.

The eight Mangum samples just show me there was a DNA link among some of the known Mangum living in Granville or Orance Co. N.C. This being a good thing. A number of Mangum men Y markers are being showed to really be Duke.

The sample that caught my eye was Inell McMillon's sample filed under Person family. She descend from John Person & Mary Partridge through their daughter Mary Person (1698-1769) who married 1718 to John Rackley.

The problem is that numerous researchers have taken her Mary Person and marry her to our Wm. Mangum. They have given her a great family tree, problem is I believe it is all wrong.

Only one researcher gave the parentage as Job & Sarah Person.

I will continue to look in the future for more matches.
Found Ancestry DNA project researcher "FredPatter44" descend of John Mangum & wife Frances S. Bennett through son Henry

I descend through their son Wm. We are 8th cousins
