Wondering if anyone has the definite (present day location) of a McKay Mill, as referenced in the next sentence, at/near present day Morgan Ford in Warren County? Frederick County Minute Book 1801-5, pg 317 refers to "Thomas Grubbs (son of Humphrey) app overseer of the road from the Island Ford to the Manassas Road at Mary (Moses) McKay Mill." A close-by property makes reference to "Smoketown" which I believe is in the Gregory/Morgan Ford area.

According to Laura Hale's book "neighborhood of Smoketown near Manassas Creek empites into Shenandoah River"
Have you tried looking at the various census reports to see if the town turns up?
You can go to google and to their maps section
Look for said Manassas creek/run next to Rt 12 then crosses Shenandoah River at Low Water Bridge at Morgan Ford at Rt. 627.
Also included in my Warren Co. VA land divison of a tract between two Marshall men and I have included that drawing in my book. Has Manassas Run in the land division.
You might just try local real estate listing, some thing might pop up.
Good luck

Thanks for the response, however, the purpose of my inquiry was to try to find/locate the RE (Mill) holdings of Moses McKay at or near Morgans Ford...........Eugene

I did give you the location of Moses McKay's Mill. As a child I believe crossing the bridge and my father made the statement "That Moses McKay Mill". It was standing in the 1960's, google map might give you a closer look at the location. In the end you will have to visit the location for yourself.
