I have finished my book dealing with Warren Co. VA Land Deeds 1836-1861 for $25.00, e-mail me for more information.
I have started my last big project abtracting records into book form from the original records of Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed & Wills.
In 1980 Amelia C. Gilbreath published the book "Shenandoah County VA Abstracts of Wills 1772-1850", which I have in my library. Unfortunately, her book only contains the information from the Wills in these estate books, missing all the other documents in this books. Like inventory, estate division, gifts, etc.....So if you have this book it has only a very small part of the information found in the will books. Not a lot of the information found in the wills abtracted in this book.
I am looking for information in connection with my various families that lived in this area of VA.
Also will be posting implied marriages between various surname, that I do not see listed in John Vogt's Marriage Book 1772-1850. Also very interested in showing the time and other locations people removing from this county.
My first book will cover Book AA through HH 1820 to 1830. I hope to find information dealing with my Shipp, Bridges, McKay, Jenkins, Richards and others.
Will also be looking for the names of slaves owned by the above families.
If others have surnames they need information, they should post that information.

Found Book AA,238 dated 11 Sep 1820 probated 11 Sep 1820
Thomas Little living in Cocke Co. TN sold to Sarah DAVIDSON (widow of Josiah Davidson) his 1/5 part of a tract containing 68a with all its appurtenances, situated in Shenandoah Co. VA adjoining the heirs of David Funkhouser,
Said Thomas Little was the half-brother of said Josiah Davidson.
John Vogt's married book has the marriage listed between Josiah Davidson & Sarah BORDEN on 6th Apr 1803. Will not found in Gilbreath's book, he could have died without a will and his estate divided by laws of VA.
I would assume that said Thomas & Josiah's mother married Mr. Little & Mr. Davidson, Vogt's book does not seem to have those marriages listed. The other heirs of said Josiah Davidson not listed. They will perhaps turn up in latter deeds.
Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed Book Y,290, Eve Griffy (late Eve Shaffer) of Shenandoah Co. VA gifted to the children of her present husband David Griffy, given as: John Griffy, Lucy Griffy, George Griffy, Elizabeth Griffy, Barbara Griffy, David Griffy, Joseph Griffy, Catherine Griffy & Adam Griffy.
They to enjoy her 1/6 rights two tracts in Shenandoah Co. VA containing 282 1/2a sold to her by Adam Bloss & his wife Hannah and second containing 286a which had been sold to her by Samuel Shaffer & his wife Catherine.
The mystery-- recorded in this deed is the statement that after her death said step-children to have possession of the property but "to pay to her two children which she have before she married the said David Griffy." each to have $150.
These two people are not named. Why she did not leave the property to them instead of her step-children, no idea.
Also the statement if she and David Griffy to have children then they to enjoy the property with the others.
John Vogt's marriage book has the marriage:
David Griffy & Eve Sheffer (sic) 12 Apr 1815 daughter of Eliz. I can't seem to find in his book a marriage record before this one. It could be she married earlier in another county. Or she had two children "out of wedlock".
